Questions & Answers

NexStar 6 SE Telescope from Celestron Is it possible to apply this to this situation?

Yes, I'm using it for a Celestron Nextstar 6. You'll need to remove the eyepiece and the sight, as well as a spacer pad for the 4 inch. I've been traveling with it in a 5th wheel camper since June 2014 until now (Dec 2014) and it's held the scope very securely. It is, however, sturdy and quite heavy. It is important to note that it only holds the telescope and accessories; the tripod must be carried separately.

Will the Celestron NexStar 130 SLT Computerized Telescope fit in this case? Is there a case to be made for something else? If that's the case, which one is better?

The NexStar 130SLT is not compatible with the NexStar 130SLT. I'm not sure why Celestron Technical Support keeps insisting that it does. I returned mine and notified them the day before yesterday- They insisted it did fit despite the fact that it didn't. I even included a picture with my message.

Is the motorized mount, as well as the optical tube (Nexstar 8SE), compatible with this case?

Dear James, I can confirm that the optical tube and mount for the Nexstar 8SE are compatible with the case. All you have to do now is move the tube along the dovetail until the edge is close to the mount basis.

If you want to transport your Celestron Nexstar 8SE, don't buy this
3/5

I bought his 94003 Nexstar Carrying Case for them because it could also hold the Celestron Nexstar 8SE. However, it only came with the 8 SE Optical Tube and not the large hand control piece, as I discovered. I've attached some photos for you to look at. I'm returning it and placing a new order for a larger case.

I'm extremely dissatisfied with this purchase
3/5

You'd think that for $239 and a carrying case that comes ***bundled*** with a Celestron 8SE telescope, the telescope would fit into this carrier, right? You'd be mistaken, of course. Expect to be able to fit the barrel and the main motorized mounting unit within the current container for a telescope that costs nearly $1,000 in a bag that costs $239. If you're going to spend $239 on a telescope, at the very least make sure you can transport it. Which means I could just hold the barrel in my hands. This is a terrible purchase, and the company should be embarrassed for bundling it with the main telescope. They should've told you that you needed the more expensive $500 bag to fit the Motorized Mount in. Rip off at its fullest extent of SHAME! br>br>SHAME! br>br>SHAME! br>br>SHA.

I'm glad I invested the money; it was well spent! My Celestron NexStar 6 SE is one of the best telescopes I've ever owned
4/5

For a long time, I was opposed to purchasing this case, and I was so opposed to spending so much money on a case that I almost drove my scope across the country in the box it arrived in. But now that I have the case, I'm glad I purchased it. I figure it's worth it to suck it up and protect a good scope after spending so much on one! The case itself has a great design. The case's hard outer shell is good and strong, and it's lightweight. We purchased our scope with the intention of transporting it across the country and camping with it. Inside the case, there is a compartment with more pockets- It's ideal for transporting some of our extra lenses that don't fit in our lens case, as well as our lens cleaning tool, extra batteries, the tripod lens holder, and our sky sync GPS, among other things. - They're safely zipped up inside one big pocket to prevent them from falling out and damaging the scope. In terms of safeguarding the scope's tube- It's a very tight fit. Which is fine, except for the way the visual back and star pointer appear to be pressing against the case. So, to give these items a little extra protection, I placed my telescope in the case by horizontally laying the longer pad (that came with the case) across the top of the telescope tube. In addition, I cut down the other pad that came with the case and reinserted it into the fabric case- I put it on its side and stand it upright. This, I believe, adds an additional layer of protection, preventing the knob from "floating. " The image below depicts how I store my scope in its case. The case also has a strap that wraps around the tube, so it's good and safe to drive on rocky dirt roads and walk long distances with it. br>As a result, it is well worth the money, even if it is pricey. It was a great investment. It enables us to travel with our scope with ease and protects it far better than we could ever protect it ourselves. I would strongly suggest it. br>Recent changes: We couldn't imagine our telescope without a case after three years. It's proven to be extremely useful. We bought a wagon so that we could go out into the woods and find clearings. Because the setup was so simple, I used bright green tape to cover the pouches. In the dark, I labeled them with black marker to make it easier to find everything. Plus, with a good case to keep it in, packing the telescope for travel is a breeze. This is extremely useful because we frequently stop at hotels and have to lug our expensive belongings inside as well. We are so happy we purchased it!.

BUY THIS PRODUCT AT YOUR OWN RISK! CONSTRUCTION IS APPROPRIATELY DEFECTIVE! 8SE is the next generation of Nextstar
3/5

I'd been looking for a year and had originally bought the smaller case with a 4SE. I've been attempting to consolidate my belongings, carry fewer items by hand, and keep my back in good shape. So I went ahead and bought this case because it's bigger and has wheels. I'm being completely honest. On Amazon, I found this case used. There's a case to be made here. So, in my mind, a few nicks, stains, and minor damage should be acceptable as long as my scope is protected. As a result, this has nothing to do with Amazon and everything to do with the Celestron case in particular. br>br>As you can see from the photos, this case is poorly made. First and foremost, it is far too large to be soft, as evidenced by the fact that part of the handle has torn away from the body, as shown in the photos. Regardless of whether it was bought new or used, the case is useless right now. The casing has also separated due to the low wheel clearance. I had hoped for more space and pockets on the lid, but that could have been a minor annoyance. br>br>My 8SE is fantastic, and the smaller Celestron case has never let me down; I'm glad it arrived damaged, because I would have been very disappointed if I had bought it new at full price; I'm returning it. This case is a sham, and Celestron made a mistake with it. I am unable to give the product a zero rating.
