When compared to the plastic snap-on lid, it takes up less space. cases with lids made of plastic This was a brand new one, and it was only $6. How could I go wrong for $40 plus shipping? Note: This Tiffen pouch resembles the Ruggard brand pouches sold by B&H Photo. They must all be made by the same contractor.
For my various lenses, I have a large number of filters. For me, this carrier helps to keep them safe and organized. It has a velcro closure that runs the length of the case to keep it shut. There's a lot of padding around these filters to protect them.
Filters are pricey, and I haven't taken one from this wallet yet. However, it was a close call. br>A backcheck flap sewn on the underside of each pocket would keep the filters under control when trying to pull one loose without losing the rest; I'd like a label or window on the outside, or a color differentiator so it's easy to tell which "Black" wallet contains what without opening them and exposing the filters inside to dust. Things that go in those black bags should be a different color so you can find what you're looking for even in low-light situations.
Outside of Photoshop, I still use a few physical filters, and this filter wallet is perfect for storing them. Larger filters will fit better at the top because it folds closed. I have a few filters that I prefer to keep in their original packaging, and those just fit. If I put them in the bottom slots, the wallet doesn't roll/fold properly to align the velcro closure, so if you can't part with those old square Cokin filter cases with the nice labels and pretty example photos, this might not be the best solution for you. The pockets are mesh and have a slight stretch. It's an excellent solution for filters outside of cases, but it's not dust-free.
I like to bring a few filters with me when I travel with my camera. a neutral density filter, possibly a circular polarizer It's critical for me to have a trustworthy wallet. I can quickly access my filters with the Tiffen Filter Wallet (rather than stacking them together and then unscrewing them to get to the filter I want). br>br>Because the filter wallet folds flat, it is easy to store. br>br>Improvement opportunities include: 1. br>br> To hang the filter wallet, use a loop. br>2. Perhaps a wallet with 9 filter slots - 3 folds across 3 folds across 3 folds across three folds across three folds across three.
Despite the fact that it is too big for me. I was under the impression that I needed a larger pouch than the four-pocket version. In practice, I probably only need a smaller pouch to carry filters with me when I'm out and about with my camera. This one is well-made, but it's a little too big for my tastes. I'd be happy to have the space to carry a few more filters if I was carrying a larger camera pack and doing field photography work. The pouch is yet another Tiffen product that I expect to be of high quality. All things considered, it receives a five-star rating. A four-pocket version, on the other hand, might be more appropriate if you only have a few filters on you.
In contrast to the gray tint on the Lowepro (which makes identification of the filter a bit difficult due to the tint), the Tiffen is less bulky and the pockets are covered by transparent see-through plastic, which is nice. The Tiffen appeals to me because it is less bulky and has a clear see-through pocket. It's a lot easier to find the filter you're looking for this way. I suppose it's a matter of personal preference!.
If I put my 58mm filters in, they'll fall out, but anything larger than that should be fine. This case is smaller than I expected; it's about the size of a woman's wallet. When closed, it measures 8"x4"; when open, it measures 8"x14. " Overall, it's a great case, and I'm pleased with it. I'm going to order two more, and they'll be delivered and received on time, so it'll be well worth the money.
