Thank you for your inquiry. They are 15mm carbon fiber rods. Neither our Carbon Fiber Rods nor our Inner Threaded Rods have a female thread or inner There is no way to connect these two rods. The material of a Carbon Fiber Rod is quite delicate, so it is not recommended to connect two of them together. Smallrig rod connectors allow you to connect two rods together.

In this review we will look at the SmallRig 12-" This inch-thick carbon fiber is These rods are made of fiber. There are actually no rods at all but instead open-ended tubes An exterior diameter of 14 is measured on the ends of the tubes. A diameter of 93 mm and a length of 63 mm. The difference between the two values is 4 Each of the tubes I received was slightly different in length and diameter, but both were consistent in size. I tried them with all "15mm" system components and they fit perfectly. The descriptions state tubes are 12 inches long, however, they have clearly been manufactured to metric dimensions and both were 30 inches. This is 13/16 of an inch. I propose a length of 13) At 15 kg side loads, the relatively thick walls provide high strength. There is very little deflection with the walls that thickness. Despite its smooth surface, the finish was not as rough as expected. In each tube of 30 cm, there was 1 gram In comparison, 16 oz) is just 54% of comparable products Aluminum tubes that are 15mm in diameter and anodized. Some other reviewers of these carbon fiber tubes complained that they obtained significantly undersized tubes or tubes that were not the same size. There is no way to tell if the reviews were for lengths other than 30 cm, or if they were for earlier production batches. small plastic tubes that I received (labeled SMALLRIG in white paint) were always 14 mm in diameter. The diameter of the outside of the tube is 93 mm In a recent calibration, a Mituto Model 193 micrometer (carbide faces and 0. 01 inch undersize) was used to measure the undersize. The accuracy or resolution of this measurement is 1 mm. A Helios inside dial caliper was used to measure inside diameters Approximately 025 mm of In fact, I was surprised at the precision with which the tube dimensions were measured. I have purchased anodized aluminum tubes and rods with significantly more variety for a similar price as these carbon rods The tubes are made of fiber. The attached pictures are of an extension support made out of 30 cm long carbon fiber tubes for a 600mm telephoto lens. The front is fitted with a removable handle, and there is an Arca-compatible device on the side Type 38 Swiss The rear tele lens mount is held in place by a clamp measuring 85 mm. Besides being light, the extension also has a textured surface The 7 is relatively light, but is very strong, and it serves as a useful aiming aid and support. In the field, lens and camera rig weigh 5 lbs.
These rods are 0. 15 inches long. They were 25mm smaller than 15mm, so they weren't wide enough to replace the viewfinder rod on an FS7, so i didn't use them at all. Aside from the sharp edges, there is also the risk of scratches from clamps with sharp edges. I suppose this is another tradeoff for the light weight, but it is Also, these things tend to slip more, so be careful if you intend to use them for anything other than a mattebox or lens support that is designed to hold both rods, not just one, as a focus motor might be.
The rods fell off when I tightened the clamp on the set I purchased. I initially thought it was a case of bad luck, so I bought another pair, but the same thing happened. Hence, I have finally returned this rod set as well as the Lanparte 8" rods. My preference is to have the carbon fiber rods 6" in diameter, but it seems IMPOSSIBLE at the moment.
I am a little For my 4K rig for a V-series camera - that is my BMPCC 4K rig Ensure that the battery plate is mounted and that a follow focus is in place. My Tilta Mini Follow Focus rotates around this rail when I clamp it into the rail. I just received it today. There's no spin on it when connected to another rail. At first, I thought it might be an issue with the follow focus but, when connected to another rail, there is no spin The clamp was too tight so I tried to make it as tight as I could.
Parallel rod clamps are intended to clamp a single rod. They need to share a common clamping point and have a match circumference. The rods slip if one of them is too tight and the other is too loose. This feature is only available on one quick adjust base plate. These rods does not work with it (at least the ones I received). This would be fine, even great, if you had separate clamps for each, but the manufacturing specs are not tight enough to meet the requirements for every application.
As practical and sturdy as what would cost you hundreds of dollars for a real bicycle, these are ten times cheaper and weigh one tenth of the weight of the real thing. GO AHEAD SMALLRIG AND KEEP MAKING AWESOME PRODUCTS!.
These rods were purchased to extend my 15mm rods so I can add a battery pack to them. As a result, I didn't realize the carbon fiber rods do not have threads on the inside and cause the rods to become unsafe if there are heavier accessories attached. Instead of buying aluminum rods, I returned and bought aluminum rods.
My first impression of Carbon Fiber rods was pretty good. Despite their small size, SmallRig has come a long way in terms of quality control. My rods look much better than the ones that came with my rig as well, so that's another It is easy to work with and has been reliable. I have been using them heavy loads for a few months now and they have held up well.
