I bought the GoPro chesty because I wanted the quality that you'd expect from their products, and I wasn't disappointed; it's well-made and made of good material. My only complaint is that it appears to have been designed by a man for a man; it is difficult to use for a woman; I had to fiddle with it to get it to fit properly, and even then, the straps are in an awkward location; however, I am satisfied with the harness and have found a way to work around the problem.
It's a fantastic improvement on the original. The buckle is now located in the center of the chest mount, and the chesty plate is much wider than before, making the gopro less shaky. br>br>If you already own the original, sell it on eBay and replace it with this. It's an upgrade that's well worth the investment.
For my GoPro 7, I've tried a few different chest mounts, and this one is by far the best. br>br>I wore it for the majority of the weekend while on our dirt bike adventure. It fit snugly and comfortably after it was adjusted, with no slipping or shifting. We spent about 6 hours each day on some pretty nasty mucky trails here in the Pacific Northwest, and I'm a pretty aggressive rider. The mount did not budge, and the adjustments did not loosen or stretch at any point. The mount/harness never made me feel uncomfortable, and once I put it on, I didn't give it another thought. When not using a remote, it was also simple to turn the camera on and off. The camera remained firmly in place, with the lens set at the desired angle. br>br>I'm not one for brand loyalty, but when it comes to my GP7, I've found that the GoPro line of products has given me the best results so far.
For a while, the cheap ones work fine, but both of the ones I've had broke (at the clasp) and are no longer repairable. This is exactly what I should have purchased a long time ago, but it is a far superior product.
So far, it appears to be doing what it's supposed to be doing. It was used for a couple of occasions. The plastic clip appears to be in good condition. br>br> I'll see what happens if I fall down while skiing with this on. br>br>However, here is some advice. Never give this to a child if you want useful video! If you do, make sure they're old enough to not waste hours of recording time by being jerky.
While hiking Pictured Rocks in Munising, MI, I used the GoPro chest mount with my Hero 7 Black for an 8-hour stretch. With a height of 6'0 and a weight of 210 pounds, the mount fit me almost perfectly. It was snug, but there was enough room for me to loosen it up a little more if I wanted to. If you're a lot bigger, I'm worried it'll be too tight.
I'm curious if Gopro recognizes that its target audience includes more than just extreme sports fans. This chest mount, based on its design, does not appear to do so. br>While the mount is convenient in that it frees up your hands for other tasks, you'll still need a gimbal to stabilize your shaky footage because walking isn't like biking in that you don't maintain the same vertical position. Without an external stabilizer, the footage may be unusable depending on your gait. My very first video was a simple one-take shot. the- There was no way to fix the wobble without insane cropping, so it ended up in the recycling bin. There's a $500 program that claims to be able to stabilize your walking footage, but I wasn't going to spend that kind of money. So instead, I spent an extra $160 on a gimbal. br>So, if you're looking for chest footage, think twice about buying this mount because things aren't that simple.
The construction of this brace is excellent. It holds my new Hero 7 Black safely and securely and moves no more than I do. It is well made, it sits firm on my chest, and it is fairly easy to adjust. I recommend it 100%.
