This product had only one review when I ordered it and neither of these reviews showed pictures of the RSC2, but they did mention Vine voice letting me know what the product looked like on the RSC2. It is a great disappointment for me to see that the RSC2 handle has a serious design flaw. Because the RSC2 Hinge mechanism is positioned on the Handle and the lock nut is placed on the handle, it is very difficult to attach this handle, and it is even more difficult The pictures I linked show that the wingnut on the locking bit has been mounted so close to the handle of the RSC2 that it is nearly impossible to tighten it using an external tool. Despite my best efforts, I was not able to use it from the other end due to the locking mechanism of the RSC2's handle. Although Smallrig has made great products, there seems to be some jitters related to this new release due to the recently launched new Ronins or the RSC 2 wasn't meant for this product and the Marketing department never heard about that fact. Despite the fact that there is only one photo of a RSC2 in the Amazon description, there is no view of the locking mechanism.
Handles on Smallrig products are in keeping with their style. In addition to feeling good in your hand, the handle has a non-prickly feel to it The grip is made of rubber. There are additional mounting points for lighting or wireless receivers, and the case is well constructed. According to the visual appearance, it looks as if it should have been part of the DJI gimbal. On one side of the handle, there is a red pin stripe that goes perfectly with the red accent stripes on the carbon fiber. The price of this accessory is excellent, and I think everyone will like it.
Because of the one bad review, I was a bit concerned, but Small Rig has pristine quality in everything they do. There was no disappointment with this. This is far better than having it hang from a side mount since my 7" monitor sits right on top of the handle, and it is essentially aligned with the camera screen. It's easy to fix if the quick release touches the unlocking part of the ronin SC2. You just have to tighten that part and everything will work again.
For the purpose of this review, I was provided with the product. The sling is great because it can be adjusted so much. I think this is much better than what DJI comes up with. You can mount it in a variety of ways and it is comfortable to sit on. The frame has a very solid feel, which is important when running heavy rigs. There is only one reason I did not give this a star, which is the fact that I wish there was a way to mount a handle back on that end so that it could be added to a system already in place. The ability to wear this sling while also wearing my dual handlers would be perfect for me.
It is an excellent addition to make the RSC 2 have a second grip. To make it easier to tighten in so small an area, you can pull out the wing as you tighten it to turn it. The process is very simple.
It is easy to use and very comfortable to hold. I've always been impressed by SmallRig's build quality. With this, I am able to use the left NATO mount for a handle to mount my monitor. As well as great for carrying in a briefcase.
I like how it works. It would be nice if there was a way to stabilize a If you'd like to shoot from low angles, you can sling it down. I heard that the SC2 was having problems. If the gimble knob is on the left and it is not able to be tightened, it won't work. If it is able to slip on, it works. Takes a little space up, fits in the extra slot in.
In general, the smallrig kit has an improved locking joint, and it has more mounting options, including a cold shoe to mount the phone holder. . . which is actually a huge bonus considering the two main gimbal mounting options are poorly designed and can sometimes interfere with movements.
