In the beginning, I ordered this as an option for mounting a microphone on a gimbal using Osmo 3. The program does a good job at that. It has been useful to me in so many other ways since then. You can use this simpler and smaller solution in place of a full on cage to use your microphone with a DSLR or a mirrorless camera. I think that this might be a better option for those who are looking just for a cage for a microphone or video light. A test will be conducted soon to see if it can also hold a finder scope and camera so a DSLR can be guided on an astrophotography guiding mount. You might not feel it is rigid enough, but check it out. This is a great price for such a quality product!.

It is small, light, and comes at a great price. It hasn't been used much, but I think it will work well with my mobile setup. It is reliable and does not take up a lot of space. Brightness can be adjusted on the fly and it can be easily removed when not in use. The device is also light, so that's nice.
I used it with my DJI mobile 2 and iPhone Xs Max.

Worked just as advertised, however, a ball head was needed which can be bought fairly easily and for a reasonable price.
