It is so handy to have this gadget since it works so I even laughed as a parent when I played with it, even when I used a low voice! We love it when there is two stories of our house, and tested it from atop to a bottom level, and it looked great! Recommend it without hesitation. As far as I can tell, it works fine. I find that it does not perform as well as the specifications suggest it should. According to the company, the reception can reach 300 feet. With a clear shot, you're lucky to hear 75 feet in the distance clear audible reception. Despite the wider voice range, it does not have a good frequency response. If you are interested in listening to other sounds, including birds chirping, crickets chirping, or motors running, the frequency response is excellent. In the 30s A 3000 Hz signal is not so strong. My expectations were SO high when I got this device for Christmas. I was so disappointed in the results. Only sounds within 15 feet of the device are amplified, but not any further, and any sounds close to the device (like the cord rubbing up against it) are amplified greatly. I find this very disappointing.

That's pretty much what it comes down to you get what you pay for. As of yet, I haven't been able to hear conversations at a distance sufficiently to say, "Wow, I like this. ". Using the audio jack, you can hear sounds you normally wouldn't hear and you are also able to hook up a speaker. As a result, it has a few features that make it useful. You may not be able to hear the exact work in a conversation from very far away and if you are looking to remain inconspicuous, good luck, as it is simply too big to go unnoticed.
