I've never used a "ves@ mount" before, so I'm not sure. Sorry.
The hole pattern is not VESA compatible.
Probably. I've got two lights turned on, each about four feet long. 5 lbs. The one on the left is nailed to the wall, while the one on the right is zip-tied to the drop ceiling frames. Make certain that the lights are properly secured.

The metal is extremely sturdy and well-made, which impresses me greatly. The hardware that comes with the plate isn't something I'd use. Purchase your own wall anchors/screws at Lowe's. However, in my broadcasting studio, this worked perfectly. Rather than cluttering the room with too many light stands on the floor, we mounted our lights to the wall. br>As well as a great price,.
Instead, I purchased four of these, which I use as feet on a pair of Westcott Ice Light IIs. Then, in product photography, I use Ice Lights, which have 'feet' that allow me to position the light low or high. And sometimes I rest both feet on the Ice Lights to raise them about a foot in the air. This solution has made me very happy.
The device in and of itself is satisfactory. The hardware is a complete disaster. The first step is to toss out the flimsy little anchors and go to Home Depot to purchase some sturdy anchors.
This was required in order to hang a small LED light on the wall. It's what I use to light a green screen from behind. The mount is perfectly stable and functional. It is, however, intended to be screwed into studs rather than drywall. If you're going to work with drywall, I strongly advise you to use high-quality materials. Anchors for drywall that are of good quality. Under the weight of the unit, the screws that came with it will pull out. The bracket is built to last. It could carry almost any type of photography light as long as it was mounted properly.
The only thing that would make this truly complete is if it included a gimbal mount. However, since those can be purchased separately on Amazon, the lack of one isn't a major flaw.
Exactly what I needed to install a hair light in my garage, which doubles as a photo studio twice a year for photo shoots for my apparel brands. It's a non-stop non-stop nonstop nonstop nonstop nonstop When not in use, it is unobtrusive and out of the way. I use a ladder to attach my hair light whenever I need it. I only used two of the included screws to secure it to a stud behind the drywall ceiling because the price was so good.
It's fantastic! I built a 2'x2' ceiling tile out of thin plywood with a reinforcing strip of wood on the back to screw the mount into because I have a drop ceiling in my basement. I can mount a small softbox (LimoStudio 4x45W CFL) or a back spotlight (StudioPRO Premium Spot Daylight LED) to it, making it a useful, movable ceiling tile. br>The mount is only limited by the height of my drop ceiling; it's well-made and could likely support a lot more weight.
This was purchased in order to raise a camera arm above my work surface. The construction is entirely made of metal and is extremely durable. My only wish was that they made a version without the lighting attachment that was a little shorter in length overall.
