There was a lens cap that came with my camera, but I lost it.
I have a Sony and a Canon camera. The pinch cap I am using is so much better than the Canon caps I was already On my Canon lens, I use this on the focus ring. To me, it doesn't matter what it says on the outside, as long as it works well. Products of high quality are hard to come by at a reasonable price. As soon as this price starts showing up on Amazon in different sizes, I'm sure I will purchase even more Sony caps. With the cap, you will find paperwork and packaging from Sony. This was the only thing I didn't look at. Perhaps an explanation of how to use a lens cap was included. In any case, this is an excellent product you shouldn't miss out on if you need one.
It is NOT easy to find good quality lens caps on this site (unlike some of the 3rd party manufacturers').
I got this with the lens, and had misplaced the original one. It works just like the original one.
Filter must be inserted into the Sony VFA49R1 Filter Adapter to fit. Although it has lanyard holes on the camera, I wish it could be attached to some type of lanyard, but unfortunately, there is no option for that. If you want one with the Sony name, which I do not, you can find a cheaper one on Amazon, but if you want one with the name, this is a good one.
There was a question on this page asking whether or not this will fit a 50mm lens, and the answer was "no, it won't". It does, however, fit my 50mm straight lens (49mm lens cap size). The fact that I can have a few of these on hand, and they arrive in my mailbox within a day, makes this purchase worthwhile.
The Sony RX1 RII was my purpose in purchasing this. Unlike the original metal cap that came with the camera, this one is made from While it does not fit perfectly with the optional lens hood attached, it does fit perfectly without it.
