Selected User Reviews For Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens for Sony with 64GB Extreme PRO SD Card and Accessory Bundle
This lens has left a lasting impression on me. It's incredible because it can see in complete darkness. In addition, the quality is superb. I've only had it for a few hours, but it's already made an impression on me. I usually only write negative reviews, but this lens blew me away so much that I had to leave a positive review.
At a focal length of 16mm, there are four autofocus primes. The first lens I received was totally useless! It wouldn't even attempt to focus! I put it on another Sony camera body to see how it worked. Neither manual nor automatic focusing worked. I'm a professional photographer and videographer who has owned over 20 lenses since beginning my career, and this was the first time I'd ever encountered a dead lens. After I turned off the camera and inserted my other lens, I became concerned because my other lens made a strange noise when I turned it on. That lens had silent autofocus, so it shouldn't make any noise! I was worried that the defective lens would damage my a6400's electronics. After a few tests, everything appeared to be in order. br>br>Amazon's excellent return policy is a godsend. Two days later, I received a replacement, which is fantastic! It lives up to all of the rave reviews I've read about it. The a6400's autofocus is excellent. This was purchased for video and at a price of f1. 4 It's video-ready. It's a very cinematic lens with shallow depth of field, and it's the ideal gimbal prime lens for the a6400, with a 24mm equivalent full frame focal length. I give one star for the first lens that was defective, and five stars for the replacement lens. My only concern is the lens's longevity. Ensure that you purchase it from a Sigma reseller who is authorized to sell it. On Amazon, not every seller is.
It's absolutely incredible. It's a little more substantial than my Sony 50mm 1. 8 but not excessively so. The image quality is excellent, and there are no flaws in the 1. Taking photos and videos in lighting conditions where they shouldn't be possible is now possible thanks to the four-aperture lens. It's insane, to be honest. I went from three lights and a desire for more to just one light and a desire for less. I use a 100 iso, 1/60 second shutter speed, and a focal length of one. With one Neewer adjustable light, I was able to shoot four YouTube videos indoors. At 1. 8 was closer to 250 or 320 with my Sony lens, so you can see how much lower your iso can be even with such a small change. Even at such a wide focal length, the bokeh is good. It's not quite my 50, but it's close. In my videography and photography, I almost exclusively use these two, and they're all I've ever needed. The lens is extremely sharp. In terms of auto focus and video, it's on par with Sony's native lenses. Although it lacks OSS, it performs admirably with a gimbal or tripod. You won't be able to handheld this without an ibis for video, but it'll work fine for photos with the Alpha 6000. Without a doubt, I would purchase this lens again.
It's a significant upgrade over the 16-piece starter kit. A 50mm lens was used. The image quality is completely altered. The image attached was taken directly from the camera. Without any post-processing, converted to jpeg. The color reproduction, sharpness, and ISO sensitivity are all excellent. This is Zeiss-level quality for less than a third of the price of a comparable lens. br>br>Minor nitpick number one: Although the lens is large, it isn't excessively so. It has a pleasant feel to it in the hand. br>Minor nitpick number two: Image stabilization is not available. It's not a problem for stills, but for video, you'll need to invest in a gimbal. br>br>Sony released Firmware Update 3 on March 18, 2019. The a6000's autofocus performance has been improved by a factor of 21. br>br>If you need a wide angle lens, this is the place to go.
For my Sony camera, this is the second time I've used a Sigma lens. I've used them before (on Canon cameras) and they significantly improved the sharpness, color, and bokeh of my images/videos, as well as making autofocus a breeze. I believe that all of the praise is well-deserved; these lenses are truly the best available for a non-Sony brand. When purchasing a lens for your camera, newbies/amateurs must take into account the crop sensor. I have the a6400, so this lens will be closer to a 24mm than a 16mm (due to my camera's crop). Since this would be a true 16mm on a full-frame camera, there is no fault with Sigma or this lens. camera with a similar sensor size to the Sony A7iii I ordered the 30mm lens, but it was more like a 45mm, so I had to replace it with this one (the 16mm lens) to get the range I needed. This is something that newbies and amateurs may not be aware of, so I thought I'd mention it in this review so you can pick the right lens for your A6000s: )br>br>This lens can be used with a variety of Sony camera bodies, and I'd recommend the Sigma brand because I've had a lot of experience with Canon (now Sony) cameras. There are no issues. I hope this review has been of assistance to you:.
With the 1. 25x magnification, this lens functions as a 24mm. On APS-C, there is a 5 crop factor. Cameras with a C sensor. It's an incredible and lightweight lens that I use on my Sony a6000. It's something I take with me on hikes and it's fantastic for landscape photography. photographing on the streets It comes highly recommended.
This is my go-to lens for taking photos. It's razor-sharp, performs admirably in low-light situations, and renders colors beautifully. This is the only lens I use when I leave the house. Take a look at the YouTube reviews; this lens is praised by all. I bought it for that reason. I was not let down in any way.
This is a fantastic lens! I'm using it with my Sony a6500, and the autofocus is spot on. Unlike my Sigma 30mm, it isn't as noisy. The field of view is also excellent! I especially like the lens pouch and memory card that came with the lens, and I must say that Focus Cameras' shipping was lightning fast; I ordered this lens late on a Monday and it was already on my doorstep the next day.
