Questions & Answers

My mirrorless camera is a Canon EOS M50. Is it going to work? Is there an eos "r" on the camera that I'm missing?

No, this is an RF mount lens designed for Canon's new RF mount cameras, the EOS R and EOS RP. You have a Canon EOS-M camera. M Mount is a mounting system for motorcycles.

Is this compatible with the Canon Rebel T6 camera?

This lens isn't going to work. The t6 will not accept any RF lenses.

Is there any noise from the autofocus? This is something I'd like to use for a run. ?

The RF 35 focusing is almost silent, even when using the camera's internal mic.

Will this lens work with my crop sensor Canon 90d camera?

No, this is an RF mount, so it won't work with your 90D. You can still use the less expensive EF lenses with a crop sensor camera. An EF lens can be converted to a RF mount, but not the other way around.

For Canon EOS-M, this is a great small RF lens
5/5

This lens was purchased as an all-around and macro lens (as well as because it was a good deal for an RF lens). So far, I'm really happy with it. br>br>I also have a 24-inch monitor. The RF 35 is smaller, making it less noticeable than either the zoom or the excellent RF 50. I've found myself shooting at 35mm more often than not over the years, and the RF 35 is smaller, making it less noticeable than either the zoom or the excellent RF 50. The macro capability and the relatively wide bottom aperture are added bonuses. br>br>The lens focuses quickly and even found focus on a foggy winter morning (see photo) when other lenses I've owned would have failed to "hunt" for focus. To get the shot, I didn't need to use manual focus. Color rendition and saturation are on par with what I've come to expect from Canon lenses, and bokeh was pleasant but not spectacular. Of course, it's not the best choice for a portrait lens, but it's more than adequate for casual portraits of friends and family. br>br>I'm looking forward to using the lens over the holidays and will update this review with any new information as the lens shows its strengths and weaknesses. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> I've added a couple of images to give an idea of low light performance and "everyday" family shots (in this case, of our dog opening her present) after using the lens for a couple of months and continue to believe it can't be beat for visual acuity, weight, balance, fast focus, and size.

Although it is not an L lens, it can keep up with them
5/5

This is a fantastic lens. It doesn't have a red ring, but it takes incredible photos. A 40mm 2 is what I have. 8 and a half-dozen and a half-dozen and a half They'll be stored in my bag for the time being. This is the lens I use for all of my travels. It's currently on my EOS R while I'm in Italy.

In terms of build quality, image quality, and versatility, this lens is a hidden gem in the Canon RF line
5/5

I was looking for a one-stop shop. When I didn't need my 5DIV or L-series lenses, I used a rounder prime lens for the EOS R. The lenses in the series The 35mm f1 lens is one of the most popular lenses on the market today. The 8 IS STM RF lens is, in my opinion, the EOS R's unsung hero. It's an IS camera with a macro lens and an aperture of one stop. This camera has an aperture of 8 and a 35mm angle of view, making it a great all-arounder. lenses that are more rounded It's also a lot lighter than my L-shaped bag. My back is being saved thanks to a series of lenses. I wish the weather was more cooperative. However, it is sealed.

RF lens is awesome
5/5

If you own an EOS R or RP, you're already aware that this is the only RF lens available for less than $500, at least for the time being. For an amateur enthusiast photographer, the other RF lenses are prohibitively expensive. The fact that this lens exhibits L-refraction is what makes it so appealing. Without the L-, the glass is of good quality. At f1, there is a small amount of vignetting in the corners. It appears at number 8, but then vanishes at number 2. 8. The camera will automatically correct it. Even at a resolution of 1, the images are incredibly sharp. The total number of pixels in the image is eight. The autofocus system is quiet and smooth. Image stabilization works well and is virtually undetectable. On top of that, the control ring feature is included. 35mm is a good compromise between a general-purpose and a walking-around focal length. It's a no-brainer to choose this lens. A red ring would be appropriate for this lens. Without a doubt. Buy some 1/16" red stripe tape and give your new lens a visual upgrade if you want to have a little fun.

Although not quite a "true" macro, this RF-style camera is still a good buy
4/5

install the lens This is the second lens I've bought for my Canon EOS RP camera. For a long time, I'd wanted a dedicated macro lens, and after switching to mirrorless, I finally decided to get one. I really wanted a longer focal length than 35mm for more magnification and separation from the subject, but I'm not disappointed with the 35mm focal length because it works well as an "all-around" lens. "all-around" lens It's small and light, and it gives the EOS RP a much more balanced feel than the 24-megapixel EOS RP. 105 f/4. The size is ideal for me. br>br>The lens has an f/1 maximum aperture. Although there are faster prime lenses available, do you really need an f/1 lens? 2 or f/0. 95? REALLY? The depth of field, especially for macro work, is already razor thin (a matter of millimeters between in-focus and out-of-focus). out-of-body experience focus) at the shortest focusing distance and widest aperture possible. In reality, if you're shooting macro at close to the minimum focusing distance, you'll almost certainly be stopping down. The image stabilization is a welcome addition that I find to be very effective. br>br>The only reason I docked a star to this otherwise fantastic lens is because of the focus system. Because I only shoot stills and don't use any video features, the smoothness and quietness of an STM motor aren't particularly important to me. For faster and snappier focus, a Nano USM motor would be preferable. That isn't to say the focus system isn't flawed; it is. It's fantastic; I'm just used to USM. Both autofocus and manual focus have been used in my photography. Both are excellent, but I believe that if you have the time, manual focus will be easier to master because the focus ring is smooth and easy to grip. I wish there was another quarter-hour-long break. However, it is an inch wider. By accident, I grabbed the control ring several times. br>br>The image quality is better than you'd expect for a lens at this price. I believe it is perfectly sharp throughout the frame. At the widest apertures, there is noticeable barrel distortion and vignetting, but when stopped down to around f/4, it cleans up a lot. But, thanks to Adobe's excellent lens correction profiles, it's also very simple to fix in post. br>br>Quality of construction isn't quite L-. It's not quite up to par in terms of quality, but it's getting there. The only thing that convinces me this isn't an L- is the fact that The lack of a red ring on the lens is really the only thing that distinguishes it. I believe they could have put a red ring on the front of this lens and no one would have said it didn't deserve the "L. " Maybe if the motor was a Nano USM.

Meh! For my EOS RP, I purchased this lens as a lightweight "walkaround" prime
4/5

br>br>It was small and light, particularly in comparison to the RF 24-. I'd give it a 105, but that's about the only good thing I can say about it. The build quality, focusing speed, and focusing noise (for stills) were all mediocre at best. After a few weeks, I decided to return it. I suppose what I really wanted was a 40mm STM RF pancake lens. YMMVbr>br>P, of course. I'm not sure what the point of using a 35mm macro lens on a full-frame camera is. take pictures with the camera Yes, a 35mm with a close focusing distance. Bugs and flowers, on the other hand, are a bit of a stretch. In addition, the EF version of this lens includes a small ring light. Why would you do such a thing?.

For the RP, this is a fantastic lens
5/5

I already had the kit Rf lens and was looking for another, so this was a good option. Instead of spending 2000 on one of the l lenses, I chose this lens, which does not disappoint in terms of image quality. The only issue I've discovered is that when shooting macro, it has a hard time focusing on the closest object, and I usually have to focus on my hand first before it will focus on the closest object. All of the photos were taken at f1. Lightroom was used to edit the photos.
