The bag's outer wall is made up of a heavy cordura-like material on the outside, 1/4" heavy foam on the inside, and a sturdy, slick nylon-like material on the outside. An inner divider is made up of 3/4 inch light foam sandwiched between the same slick nylon-like material as the outer divider.
No, this isn't a good match for the 4. Equatorial is number five. To fit in the bag, you must disassemble the tripod from the scope, and the counterweight assembly is not compatible with the straps. In addition, there are no pockets for the accessories. The bag is better than nothing, is all I can say.

Although it will fit, I believe the bag will be far too large. Another reviewer claims that the Celestron Astromaster 114eq fits, despite the fact that the Celestron Astromaster 114eq is a much larger set-up.

This is a fantastic situation. The telescope is nicely separated from the tripod by a thick, padded divider running down the middle of the case. This is a vital feature. br>br>In this case, the telescope section has two very long velcro straps that keep the telescope firmly in place. Several velcro straps are included in the tripod section of this case, as well as a separate set of straps for securing the counterweight. br>br>Please keep in mind that, depending on the model of your telescope, you may need to disassemble it to at least this extent in order to fit it into the case:
- Remove the telescope from the rings that hold it in place. I was able to keep the mounting rings attached to the tripod on my mount, but I had to remove the telescope from the rings.
- Remove the tripod mount's counterweight.
- If you have them, take out the extension adjustment knobs. br>br>After this disassembly, you'll have four separate items to place in the case. This case was designed specifically to hold all of these items! It's very well padded, so it should keep your telescope in good condition.
It works and fits my Celestron 102SLT, as well as the tripod and mount, with some extra room for things like the tripod tray and anti-vibration mat. Pads that vibrate But it's really just a duffel bag with a foam insert in the middle. It isn't "padded" for anything other than sitting in the trunk of the car, which doesn't justify the price. I'm going to keep it because it's useful for bringing the scope in close. I'm not going to return it or look for something else because it's useful enough. So, it's an acceptable product, but not exceptional.
Only the separator between the tripod and the OTA has enough padding. To ensure that the OTA is protected, I will continue to use bubble wrap. Because there are no pockets or pouches for accessories, the tray, nuts and bolts, and Finder are carried in a shopping bag. The instructions are general in nature and do not apply only to this case. I couldn't figure out which half goes with the tripod and which goes with the OTA. Overall, this was a disappointing purchase and a rare miss from Orion, which is known for producing high-quality products.
While reading reviews to see if the bag would be a good fit for my Celestron 90 EQ telescope, I became a little perplexed. That is correct. A few people complained that the bag was too big, but it was exactly as described, measuring 43" long. Inside the bag, foam attached to the bottom separates two sections. There are two velcro straps on one side that are designed to go around your telescope and help keep it in place. The telescope, tripod, EQ mount, weights, and a small box for the eyepieces all fit perfectly. The purchase has met my expectations.
I bought this case for my wife's Explore Scientific 127 achromatic refractor, as well as the MAZ01 alt-az mount and tripod that came with it. Everything fits pretty well but I am not 100% sure the tripod won t ding the scope during transport. There is a padded divider between the two but it just isn thick enough for Perhaps with a smaller scope or a protective towel. Orion, you have a great bag!.
My telescope is safeguarded by it. It'll be used with a Celestron 102SLT telescope. With a padded divider in place, the scope and tripod both fit. between. It would have been nice if there were some zipper compartments for small accessories, but it functions as expected.
This padded bag was not purchased for a telescope, but rather for an Alpha-Scope. Antenna tripod for the Delta "Outpost. " The Velco(TM) tie downs are excellent, and the tripod fits perfectly.
Fits well, padding is good, and the bag is easy to clean.
