Questions & Answers
If you have an Orion SkyQuest XT8 Classic Dobsonian telescope, the specs state that it is 46. You'd be taking a chance if it was 5 inches long. I just took a 45-degree measurement of the bag. 5 max. It might be possible to force it in, but why risk it? It'd be extremely tight if it did fit.
It wouldn't happen.
Yes, I have an Orion Skyview Pro 8" and it is a good fit for me. The factory view finder, however, makes it difficult to zip all the way up.
No idea. It was purchased for the purpose of transporting a photography tripod and light stands. That's exactly what it's for.

There isn't a whole lot to say about this. It's well-made and securely holds the scope. Unless you're only going to your backyard, this case, as well as one for your tripod/mount, are required. Another fantastic product from Orion.
). br>br>The quality of this case is excellent. It's the ideal size for everything I own. It's thickly padded, and the seams appear to be well-made. I've made a webbing "basket" to surround the case because I'm carrying more weight than the telescope it was designed for. Straps that come straight from the "basket" were created by me. br>br>I'm not fond of the case's straps. They're far too long to be carried in a suitcase. They're also too short to wear as a suit bag on your shoulder. They're also off-center, which is most likely due to the off-center telescope for which the case was made. But this is no longer an issue for me because I've made my own straps and placed them exactly where I want them. br>br>Overall, I believe this is a beautifully designed and constructed bag. I believe the price is reasonable, and Orion appears to be a trustworthy company. What more can I ask for than a quality product at a reasonable price delivered quickly?.
a lot of space.
Quality is excellent. Rugged and tough.
It's pricey for what it is, but it's kept our scope safe and clean for a number of (25) star parties. I even purchased a second one to use with a different scope.
This was exactly what I was looking for. It's light and compact, and it protects my tripod very well.
This was primarily purchased for the purpose of housing my telescope. It has some padding to protect it from minor dings and, more importantly, to keep dust at bay. It's very convenient to transport and provides a sense of security.
