Yes, but you may need to update your Shield TV's system before the new controller is recognized; I had to do this with my older-model Shield TV. I received a "factory dafaulted" version of the nVidia Shield Pro (the flat box rather than the "pipe") that had been "factory dafaulted" before I received it. I was fortunate enough to have an nVidia Shield gamepad with which to complete the update. After a few updates, I was finally able to pair the new remote.
To change the batteries in the remote, I'm having a hard time opening it. I'm about to give up and return it, or I'm going to contact the manufacturer for warranty service.
It certainly ought to. Their system/operating system is used to create the remote.

The original remote was the same model, but it had a serious design flaw that caused it to malfunction. The battery cover became loose quickly and would fall off on a regular basis. I bought this remote to replace the original and temporarily solve the problem, but to my surprise and delight, they improved the original model by adding a locking latch to the battery cover! Now is the best time to get a remote control. My purchase has exceeded my expectations. P. br>br>P. br>br>P. br>br>P. This will almost certainly be the best-looking television remote you've ever seen.
The remote is absolutely fantastic! We tried a variety of other "universal" remotes to control our Shields, TVs, and soundbars - none of them worked. I tried everything from Harmony to Caavo to various no-names before settling on the Sofabaton U1, which, while not perfect, was still pretty good for a standalone remote that didn't require a dongle or hub or anything. They were, however, large and cumbersome, with far more buttons than we needed. When these actual Nvidia remotes were finally back in stock (albeit in a somewhat obscure listing on Amazon, but direct from the manufacturer, so. ) I decided to order a pair to test them out. We're ecstatic, to put it that way. Small, compact, no external attachments or hubs required, and complete control over everything we require while excluding everything we do not. If I could make two changes, it would be to remove the Netflix button from the remote (man, I despise those!). ) as well as a dedicated mute button, which appears to be a major oversight. That said, the menu button in the top right corner can be set to control up to three different actions, so I just chose to mute the volume as one of them. There isn't much that could make me more satisfied with this purchase.
Perfect for my 2017 shield, it is smaller than I expected, but it works flawlessly with the older model, I despised the old remote and had to use a fire tv remote for a while, but this is perfect, and the backlit keys when picked up is a great add on, the only cons are that I opened Netflix by accident a lot at first until I got used to it, and the lack of a mute button (you can do it by pressing both volume keys or setting one of the.
" This remote is a fantastic replacement; the motion-sensitive lights are fantastic, and if your shield has already been programmed to recognize your TV model, this will do so when you pair it with the shield. It's a breeze to get everything set up. When the shield says so, press the big button and hold it down. This item is a little on the pricey side, but it is well worth it.
The remote comes with a small "instruction" pamphlet that shows how to connect the Shield TV and includes a link to a one-page guide on how to pair the remote. I'm not sure why this wasn't printed in the same font as the safety manual, but it didn't pair until I unplugged the shield TV. When I awoke, holding select seemed to do nothing, so I held it for a minute before pressing the power button, which turned it off! It had an effect. I'm not sure what I did, but I managed to get it! I tried holding the select close to the device on the first try, but nothing happened. I went into accessories and attempted to add it, but gave up after about two minutes of holding select. I had given it one star because I assumed it was dead on arrival. br>br>After that, it worked perfectly. I'd give it more stars, but the difficulty in setting it up, as well as my repeated failures to open the battery compartment (and I'm not a wimp), have reduced it to three stars.
For a few years, I've been using an nVidia Shield Pro. The device, or the remote, began to behave strangely. After attempting to get the buttons to work, the commands would not work or would come in groups. I had high hopes for this one when I placed my order. br>Unboxing and pairing were simple and painless, and commands have been executed instantly so far. The Netflix button does not appear to work for me, but I do not use the Shield for our Netflix subscription. br>I also like the triangular shape, as well as the dedicated volume up/down and menu buttons, which allow me to switch between HDMI inputs for my TIVO and DVD player. br>It's a big step up from the old remote.
br>From 2015, this is the original remote. TRASH, it was a scorcher of a year in 2017! This one is fantastic! I can't believe it's taken me so long to contribute the meager sum of $29. To improve my experience, I'll need to spend $0. 00. br>br>You can assign the "Menu" button to one of three functions. You can change it so that the volume buttons control the volume of your TV rather than just the Shield. This is a dream come true! The Netflix button is obviously present, and the Google Assistant Voice input is flawless. If you misplace your remote, you can use your phone to search for it by typing "find my remote" into the search bar, and the remote will sound an alarm. Every single day, I'd misplace the old remote! You can adjust the brightness of the buttons, which are also BACKLIT. You can also change the length of time the lights stay on. There's no need to hold the remote up to your face in the middle of the night to see which button you're pressing. Please do yourself a favor if you're still using the Shield TV remote. Take notice of what I'm saying. Simply go ahead and purchase it. Later, you'll thank me. It's all a load of nonsense!.
I bought a new remote after assuming it was the problem. When that failed to resolve the issue, I contacted the company. After several calls with technicians, they were unable to resolve the problem as well. br>I received a form to fill out, which included photos of the unit. I am unable to receive a replacement box because I was unable to provide a receipt for the unit. In November of 2020, I began this process. Meanwhile, I suffered a heart attack and underwent triple bypass surgery. pass. Because I was having so much trouble with this company, I decided to buy a new box from someone else because the problem was not related to the remotes.
