Some people buy this product to fix their old phone cords that curl up in balls or tear and are difficult to fix. The latter is the case most of the time. The product is awful! Do not buy it if you can help it. This was bought for my office phones, and when I connected it, an awful, terrible, terrible thing happened! It showed up as static. As a test I tried it on several phones to make sure it wasn't an office phone or the actual phone. The result was still the same! To see if one cord was incorrect, I tried both cords that came in the box, but the phone presented the same static with both! RCN is the network I use for my phones.
