That is not the case.
The phone cable crimpers can crimp 4 or 6 pin styles of phone cables. It's what I use to fix the Escort and V1's radar detector power cords.
RJ9 is typically used for the cord that connects the handset to the phone when this is not possible. Because it is narrower than the RJ10 connector, an RJ9 in an RJ10 socket will be loose and likely to fall out, causing inconsistent connections. This is not something I recommend you try. RJ10 is the standard for connecting RJ10 devices. Trying to mix and match connector sizes is a recipe for disaster.

I attempted to install these today and discovered that they are smaller than a standard male phone connector. The wires fit in the connector, but when I slid it into the female receptacle, it was always off to one side, which wouldn't have been a problem if the phone had still worked, which it didn't!.
If you try to use this with solid wire, you'll get an intermittent fault, as I discovered the hard way with a dropped DSL line.
No issues, and the crips are very nice. There will be no issues.
My needs were met by this item. It's a lot less expensive than having to replace the cords entirely.
The new phone for which I was setting up a line. Would denote the absence of a line. Everything is being double-checked. When I discovered that the phone would read No line, all I had to do was tap talk and I had dial tone. I was relieved to have a large number of connectors on hand.
Standard modular connectors that get the job done.
It works.
Working with RJ12 plugs is a breeze. This is a product that I strongly suggest!.
