In the days following their receipt, I used 2 of the 3 without a second thought. I don't know if they were fully charged, but they were usable.
These batteries were purchased for my cordless phones (Uniden base station and two remote controls). As such, they are charged by the bases that come with the phone system when they are plugged in.
The Uniden support website has a manual for the TRU9485, which I downloaded last night. According to the manual, both the battery and the connection are shown in the illustration. In addition to appearing identical, they also resemble The batteries I ordered from Amazon were 446. Although I'd like to take credit for thinking outside the box, the idea for an emergency flashlight was actually copied from someone else. In the event of an emergency, he purchased a flashlight plugged into the wall to be used as a nightlight. As a bonus, these batteries are very economic and have a much longer life (will hold a charge longer) than the ones that came with the device.
