Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use it without a bluetooth connection by inserting a SIM card?

It all depends on which version you obtain. You must have your phone close by when using the Bluetooth version. Although the LTE version is more expensive, it allows you to use the watch without the phone. If you want to make and receive calls and texts while your phone is at home, you must purchase the LTE version.

Is there a charger or a dock included with this?

It charges by sitting awkwardly on top of this flimsy magnetic disk. If you have a newer Galaxy S, you can charge it directly with your phone, and I wouldn't be surprised if other SMSUNG charging pads worked as well (but don't take my word for it!). Because there is no USB port on the watch, it can only be charged wirelessly.

Is it possible to use the watch charger to charge my Galaxy phone (which is Qi compatible)?

With my S3 Frontier, I am able to do so. I saw someone say they could charge it with Power share on their phone, so I'm guessing you can as well. Again, I am able to do so with my S3 Frontier.

Are you familiar with the differences between the US and international versions?

According to what I've read, the international version may not get a new blood pressure measurement update. It is, however, still being worked on.

If you're not interested in using it for fitness tracking, this is a great option
3/5

Calories burned are incorrectly calculated by the device. When I contacted the company, they agreed that there was a problem. I find it incredible that they've just released a fitness product that doesn't calculate calories correctly. It's mind-boggling to say the least. It's a shame, because this watch is fantastic in every other way. For years, I've been using Samsung phones. This watch had piqued my interest, and I couldn't wait to put it on. You'd think that with the word "ACTIVE" in the name, it'd be a fitness device, but that's not the case. br>Here's a snippet from my first Samsung representative's conversation with me: br>br>I: br>br>I: br>br>I: br> My new Active 2 arrived just a few days ago. So far, I'm really enjoying it; The calorie count for workouts, on the other hand, is completely incorrect. After doing some research, I discovered that this appears to be a problem with a number of your company's watches. Is this something that can be fixed? br>br>10: If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "in 12 a. m. br>I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. Unfortunately, the bug has not yet been resolved. br>br>After expressing her surprise, she handed me over to the next representative:
Me: So you're saying you made a fitness product that can't calculate calories correctly? br>br>10: If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "in 35 AMbr>Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience. br>br>10: If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "in 37 AMbr>However, I'd like to let you know that no such issues have been reported. (Which is the polar opposite of what the first rep said and has been proven to be false for their watches, as you can see by Googling "calorie count issues" and "Samsung" for a list of complaints. ) )br>It was a dreadful experience. I may have to switch to Apple products, which makes me sick to my stomach. br>DO NOT PURCHASE THIS DEVICE UNLESS YOU DO NOT CARE IF THE FITNESS DATA IS ACCURATE. br>br>Funny side note: When I received a copy of the transcript via email, they had removed the section where their employee stated that they were aware of the problem and that it was a bug. It's mind-blowing.

Apple is superior to Android
4/5

I love my watch, and while it appears to be a little behind on calories burned, all you have to do is turn on the workout tracker while you're working out, as well as set up your correct body measurements. Then it's usually right on the money. I have an Apple Watch as well, and the problem is the same. The stairwells you've climbed never seem to be perfectly level, but do I really care? No. In addition, the steps are correct. On the Samsung health app, I can see it counting my steps. What's even better is the new bezel feature. This allows you to quickly switch between apps and adjust the volume while listening to music. The music is great, too, because I linked it to my Spotify account, which allows it to play your Spotify music on the watch when you're not near your phone. Bixby is the only drawback. Samsung has a lot of kinks to work out on this one. Voice recognition is extremely poor. Overall, though, I adore it! In comparison to the previous one, there have been a lot of improvements. P. I've decided to boycott all Apple products, and I'm very happy about it.

If you're going to put it in the water, make sure it's waterproof
3/5

This is not a watch to buy. The watch is 5ATM water resistant and safe to wear in pools and salt water, according to the manufacturer. I decided to give swimming a try. br>br>Place the watch in water-resistant mode and double-check the display for a water drop. I jumped in the pool and did two arm strokes before noticing the display was flashing. "Resetting the Samsung Galaxy watch. " I took off my watch and hung it up to dry. I put it in the towel for two hours because the flashing continued, and when I picked it up, the display was black. br>br>When I got home, I charged it. It was charged at 100%. When the charger was removed, the flashing continued for another 30 minutes before stopping. br>br>When I looked into the water resistance issues, I discovered that many people had experienced the same thing when trying to swim with the Galaxy Active 2. This appears to be a widespread issue. According to the documentation, the watch is NOT water resistant. br>br>Samsung was called, and they went over a few things I'd already tried with me. I received a return shipping label for the item to be repaired. They claimed that the watch had gotten wet! br>br>In addition, if you get the watch wet, the warranty will be void! Then, if done by Samsung, the repair will set you back more than $220. A new watch can cost anywhere from $199 to $279, depending on where you buy it and what's on sale at the time. br>br>The Samsung customer service was useless. I was passed from one person/department to the next, and the conversation circled back on itself. You got it wet/I followed the water-safe instructions/but you put it in water; it says the watch can be worn in a pool for swimming, but you got it wet and that voids the warranty; it says I can swim with it to track a workout, but you got it wet; it says I can swim with it to track a workout, but you got it wet; it says I can swim with it to track a workout, but you got it wet; it says I can In short, the watch should not be wet. br>I got the impression that everyone was reading from the same scripted response card. br> It is not resistant to water. Repairing an old watch is as expensive as buying a new one.
