Questions & Answers

Is there a way to connect a concept 2 rower to a PM5 monitor?

Yes, without a doubt.

What is the difference between the H7 and the H8?

It has a better bluetooth connection and battery life, and it is supposed to work under water as well. I have never swum with it, but it has the ability to record one session without a watch or a smart phone. The most significant distinction is this: It is, without a doubt, more accurate. That is something I can vouch for. The H7 could be a little erratic at times, but I never noticed that on the H10. br>There are a few other minor differences: The H7 is a bit bulky, while the H10 is slimmer. Changing the batteries on the H10 is easier and less likely to damage the lid. The H10's included strap is more secure. br>And, of course, there's the price, which is slightly different:

What type of wristwatch should I get to go with my h10 while running? I'm only curious about the h10's output. I don't need a gps or a fitness tracker, right?

Any device with a Bluetooth connection, most likely. If you have a smartphone, another option is to use the Polar Beat app. Because the H10 has internal memory, you won't need a watch or a phone while running.

I'm looking for an app that works with the h10 and alerts you when your heart rate rises above a preset level. What app do you think is the most useful?

If you have the polar V800, it will also tell you, but if you don't want to spend $500 on a watch, use the polar beat app.

LOOK AT THE ONE STAR RATINGS
3/5

Despite this, I purchased this abomination. That is entirely my fault. I wish I had believed the one-star reviews here, but I didn't. . . I reasoned: Maybe it'll be different for you. . . It wasn't for me. . . If you're thinking about getting the H10 - don't. PLEASE READ ALL OF THE ONE STAR REVIEWS AS THEY ARE COMPLETELY TRUE. The majority of them talk about the product working for a while before failing. . . Yep, I have an Apple Watch 4, and when I got the H10, it paired up right away and worked perfectly for about a month. . . Then it stopped working completely. I replaced the battery and tried everything their customer service suggested - to no avail. . . So, if you want to buy a month's worth of garbage, look elsewhere. You've arrived at the right place. . . Poor product and poor customer service. . . You've been warned.

Polar H10 Strap Sizes is something I strongly recommend
5/5

It satisfies me completely. I was able to obtain the medical-related information that I needed. XXL size, and even though I contacted Polar for sizing to ensure it would fit, I still have to adjust it to the reading material, and I could go over it but don't want to hurt it. 75 cm is my height. So, since I couldn't find this information at the time of my Amazon purchase or on the Polar website, here's what Polar sent me on sizing:br>br>The H10 strap sizing is as follows: br>br>Sizes XS-XL are available. S, M- XXL, XXXL, and XXXL are the sizes that are available. XS- XS- XS- XS- XS- XS- XS- XS 51- M-66 cmbr>M-66 cmbr>M-66 cmbr>M-66 cm XXL: 65- XXXL: 93 cmbr>93 cmbr>XXXL: 93 cmbr>93 cmb 76- 116 cm.

In just six weeks, the device went from perfect to failing
3/5

Like many others, I had a similar experience. For six weeks, my H10 performed flawlessly. I kept a close eye on the app battery level and it held at 100% charge until it dropped and gave a low battery warning one day until it dropped and gave Everything seemed fine until I received another low battery warning during my next workout, so I replaced the battery right before my next workout. The battery went from 100% to less than 2 hours in less than 2 hours in under 2 hours in less than 2 hours in I assumed it was a bad battery, so I purchased a different brand (energizer, same as OEM), and the problem persisted. I began at the age of 3. 3 volts, according to my Fluke multimeter meter, then fell to two. After only a little more than an hour of use, the battery had dropped to 7 volts. When the battery is depleted, the monitor begins to act erratically. My return window with Amazon had closed because the monitor was 6 weeks old. br>br>I tried a total of 5 batteries with the same result. br>br>I tried a total of 5 batteries with the same result. br>br>Since the monitor was 6 weeks old, my return window with Amazon had closed. I contacted Polar, and it turns out that I'll have to send it to New York on my own dime for analysis, after which I'll have to pay for return shipping of the return device. I need the monitor because I'm tracking a heart "event," and I need to keep my heart rate from getting too high when I exercise. If you get one, don't expect it to work when you need it; based on other reviews, device failure appears to be a common occurrence. And, when you factor in all of the shipping costs and the time spent, the cost of repair is almost unjustifiably high.

What a waste of time! Because I've been deployed for the past year, it's taken me a long time to write this review
3/5

This was purchased to keep track of my workout progress while deployed; This was not the case. This device is useless because it does not sync with the app despite the fact that the phone can pair with it via Bluetooth. I've replaced the battery four times in the last year, assuming that was the problem. That's not the case. Only a couple of times have I been able to get it to sync. Now, almost a year later, I find myself in the same situation. I can't return it, and I don't know what else to do with it besides throw it away.

In comparison to the older sensor, this one is a huge step forward
5/5

I'm glad I got it because it's a great pickup with no delay and a better clip. Polar sensors have been a part of my life for a long time. I switched from the ones that required permanent batteries to those that required replacement batteries. The pickup and sensitivity of the replaceable battery straps, on the other hand, haven't been my cup of tea. br>br>My old polar strap was beginning to show signs of wear. In fact, the rubber snaps that hold the sensor in place were beginning to break down. The rubber grommets were beginning to flake off due to cracks. After each use, I wash my strap, rinse it, hang it to dry, and take out the sensor. If you don't remove the sensor, the sweat on the strap will continue to conduct a current to the electrodes, and the system will continue to try to transmit. br>br>If you don't remove the sensor, the sweat on the strap will conduct a current to the electrodes, and the system will continue to try to transmit. In addition, if the sensors and pickup aren't rinsed off, the sweat appears to cause rapid deterioration. br>br>So, my old strap was starting to show signs of wear, so I decided to replace it with this new one. br>br>Wow is all I have to say. It outperforms the previous model by a long shot. I used to have to wet the sensors before they would pick up anything, and even then, it took about five minutes of working out before the body heat and sweat caused an HR pickup. br>br>This one works dry and instantly, with no delay in response. br>br>The new strap has more pickups on both sides of the chest, which could be the key. In addition, the clip is no longer a hook, but rather a simple clip that is simple to insert and remove. br>br>Works well with my Precor elliptical and other gym equipment. The battery life is claimed to be nearly twice as long. br>br> I can't speak to its effectiveness because I've only had it for a week. However, I am convinced after that week. This is a huge step forward. br>br>So, if you have an older Polar sensor, it's definitely worth it to upgrade. br>br>Here's a quick follow-up. br>I've used it with an Android tablet, and the blue tooth pickup is perfect. br>I've used it with a Concept 2 ergo exercise, and there are no issues with blue tooth pickup. br>I've used it with the Precor, and there are no issues. br>br>And, the pickup is more sensitive. br>br>Update on this review in October 2018br>br> Almost all of the polar monitors appear to have this issue. My solution has always been to hand wash the chest strap with soap and water and make sure the electrodes are free of sweat. After that, I employ a Q-method. Cleaning the snaps on the attachments is a good idea. br>br>In addition, I hand wash the Bluetooth pickup with the battery still attached. Then I use a Q-card once more. Cleaning out the snaps area with care is a good idea. This always appears to be a temporary solution. br>br> However, it appears that these monitors have a one-year shelf life. br>br>As a side note, if the battery exchange doesn't work, try a different battery. In a brand-new package purchased from a local store, many of the 2025 batteries show less than half charge.

Five out of five stars
5/5

It synced with my phone and told me that I needed to work out because I was a fat ass. Seriously, this is an incredible product, and it is without a doubt the best heart rate monitor on the market. The money spent is well spent. When you enter your correct weight, the app does a good job of calculating calories burned. If you enjoy sports, I believe this is an absolute must-have.
