Questions & Answers

Is there a phone holder included with this?

It's a professional tripod designed for use with large cameras. A lighter and less expensive tripod can be used to mount a phone. You can, however, attach one phone support to the camera screw if you really need it for your phone.

Is this compatible with a Canon T6 camera? Is it, for example, compatible with any camera?

This is the larger GorillaPod, so it should work fine; I only bought the legs and used an existing ball head. It really works. You should either purchase one with a head or make your own.

What's the difference between the older GorillaPod focus and the newer model?

According to the specifications, this one is an inch narrower in width than the previous one. But I'm hoping it's the same as the focus because this will be my replacement since my focus was broken at the airport (tsa) and I had it for 6 years and it never let me down.

I'm not sure if I missed something, but are the 5k leg balls and joints metal or plastic? On a flexible stand review site, I read that they're made of metal. ?

ABS plastic is used in the 3 k. Aluminum balls are used in the 3k Pro. The price difference is due to this reason.

IF YOUR CAMERA IS IMPORTANT TO YOU, DO NOT BUY THIS
3/5

I went with the 5k model because I wanted to make sure it could support my camera and all of my lenses. It appeared to be of adequate construction. On the second day, it gave way while carrying my 5dMkIV (890g with cards and battery) and my EF 70-200mm lens. 200 f2. The 8L IS II (1490g with hood) has a total weight of 2380g, or 2. 38kg. To attach the lens collar to the GorillaPod, this rig was mounted using the lens collar. It was affixed to the wall and left to stand for about 15 minutes. The tripod configuration of the GorillaPod was used. It wasn't encircled by anything. The ground was completely level, clean, and dry. br>br>Look, I'm sure the GorillaPods are great for GoPros and iPhones, but I'm not sure I'd ever put my DSLR on this thing again. This thing would have been returned in a heartbeat if I hadn't recycled the box on the first day. Please take care of your gear if you purchase one.

Rubber with a high level of sensitivity
3/5

Everything was fine until I accidentally locked the pod inside my car in the scorching heat. The heat has baked the pod, and no matter how tight I twist the legs, they are now loose. It's still sloppy and ineffective at this point. Simply for that reason, give a negative review.

For what it can do, it is far too expensive
3/5

First and foremost, I purchased it during the Black Friday 2018 Sale, but I decided to return it after only one day of in-store use. testing in your home I have a variety of cameras, both small and large, as well as a variety of lenses, so I experimented with different combinations. To cut a long story short, it is far too expensive for the purpose for which it was designed. The tripod, in my opinion, is worth between $40 and $50. I'd keep it if it was that cheap. It works well with a small mirrorless camera or a DSLR such as the Canon 5D Mark III 24-megapixel camera. On a flat hard surface, place a 105mm lens flat or pointing 45 degrees up or down. Anything more demanding than that puts your gear in jeopardy. br>br>Would I use it for a long exposure with a 100mm focal length lens: NObr>Would I use it in a situation like this? In any orientation (e. g. , portrait or landscape), a lens with a focal length of 100mm will suffice. 70- 200): NObr>Would I take a chance with my gear on an uneven outdoor surface with 24-hour security? Pointing up/down with a 105mm lens: No, for the most part. br>Would I use it for a super-powerful weapon? photography at a close range: No. br>br>I'm not implying that the tripod claims to be able to do more than it actually can; rather, I'm implying that it's overpriced for its intended use. I have a $30 tabletop small tripod that I can use for similar purposes. I can't do much more than that with this $100 tripod. Finally, I read some reviews (not my personal experience with it) claiming that the tripod's legs would give way if left in a hot car, rendering the tripod useless for me. Finally, I thought it was strange that a $100 tripod didn't even come with a carry bag or pouch, which was disappointing.

I bought it to use with a Canon 5D for Vlogging
5/5

I bought it to use with a Canon 5D Mark IV and a Tamron 24-70mm lens for Vlogging. 70mm f/2. 8 lens. On top of that, there's a Rode Videomic Pro. It was no problem for this beast of a tripod to hold it all. While walking through the streets of The Bahamas, I was slinging it, twisting it, setting it on the ground, and holding it close to my side. It didn't let go even once. I checked the knobs on a regular basis because of my OCD and the fact that it was worth a few thousand dollars, but they hadn't loosened in the least. I'm going to keep her.

High-quality, tough, and long-lasting
5/5

I'm not sure what kept me from ordering my JOBY Gorillapod 5K kit sooner. In retrospect, I could have used this in a lot more situations. But, for some reason, I've never given it much thought. I'm glad I did it now that I've gotten it. br>br>For the record, I'm using a Canon 80D with a battery grip. I'm using a 24-mm lens. 70mm f/2. My rig is securely held in place by the Gorillapod's ball head. The Gorillapod legs do not droop or sag when I place them where I want them. Indeed, the Gorillapod's legs are so stiff that it takes a little muscle to get them to where I want them (which is ideal). It doesn't move once I've gotten it set up how I want it. The quality of the ball head is excellent. parts made of metal When panning, it almost feels like a fluid head because the knobs have rubberized grips that make them easy to twist. A small amount of smooth resistance exists. A numbered 360° scale is built into the tripod head's base, allowing me to repeat pans and adjust my position with precision. br>br>I usually bring my monopod with me when I go on vacation. It can be broken down into smaller pieces, and I pack it in my checked luggage, so the size isn't an issue. However, I've noticed that once I arrive at my destination, I rarely use it. It just doesn't seem "fun" to me to be lugging it around. As a result, it remains unattended at the hotel. touched. On my next trip, I'm excited to try out my new Gorillapod. It's about half the size of my monopod, and the ball head is a fraction of the size of the fluid video head I typically use. I can throw it in my camera bag, and when I need a steady shot, I can use it. It's all in my hands now. When I want to use it as a handheld device, I simply put it back in my bag. It is not a problem. br>br>My primary tripod is able to get quite low to the ground. This Gorillapod isn't quite as low as this one. I've never attempted macro photography before, but it appeals to me. I'll be able to place my camera almost at ground level thanks to the Gorillapod. Having a stable platform that allows me to get this low and close to the ground may inspire me to pick up a macro lens and give it a try! br>br>Overall, I'm pleased with the performance of this small tripod- I'm not sure why I waited so long to purchase it. The Joby Gorillapod 5K kit comes highly recommended from me.

Extremely hardcore I did my homework and this was rated as THE best option
4/5

For serious DSLR photographers, a tripod is a must-have accessory. It's sturdy and well-built. When I set it up on the counter, I don't have to worry about my cats knocking it over (although that could be an issue!). ) and the ball articulates so well that I usually leave my camera on the tripod and simply move it where I need it while it's on the GorillaPod to make adjustments. The only disadvantage is its weight. br>br> Unless you have strong arms and/or plan on upping your weightlifting game, the weight of this tripod will be a consideration for you if you are a roving vlogger or intend to hike up a mountain.

The ball mount should be avoided at all costs
3/5

The company is not providing any services. I tried several times to get this company to help me with the issue and received no response; therefore, I would look for a better option elsewhere. It's difficult to believe a company with such a bad reputation has such poor customer service.
