All of them are plated with tin - I'm guessing it's copper underneath, but I'm not sure.
It all depends on how many amps you anticipate drawing. The largest wire that appears to be available is 12ga.

I was in need of some ring connectors, so I decided to give this super-cheap multi-pack a try. pack. You're probably aware that old adages are usually correct: You get what you pay for, and if something appears to be too good to be true, it most likely is. I used two different professional crimping tools as well as 8-inch needle nose pliers to test some of the butt connectors. The crimped connectors would always pull right off the wire with little effort, and I was able to complete the job with no problems using connectors from my dwindling supply of auto parts store connectors.
I liked that there were numerous sizes available and that the price was reasonable. The metal on these is very thin, particularly in the crimp area, which is a disadvantage. After being installed on a male spade, the female spade quickly spread. Some are difficult to put on and others are too easy; I had to pinch male spades with pliers to keep them in place. The male spades included in this kit are also thin and bend easily. I won't be buying them again; instead, I'll look for heavier duty or go back to buying them from my local box store because they're much better quality and, of course, much more expensive. I was hoping to save a few dollars over the better box store brands, but it wasn't worth it to me for the price. If you're looking for a cheap decent variety to get you buy on a budget these are the ones. If they included 90-degree spades as well, the kit would be a little more versatile. I'll probably use these for school projects for the kids or give them to my worst enemy or something. I'm not going to ask for a refund because they're still functional, albeit at a very low level.
The quality of these was extremely poor. br>br>When I compared them to some other items I had on hand, I discovered that the metal was twice as thick. As a result, I was concerned that they would separate. br>br>In addition, the plastic was brittle. I'm not sure they'd hold up to crimping. br>br>The others I have came from Amazon, but they were only a few cents more per item and easily ten times the quality. The item has been returned. br>br>.
To see if these were copper with plating, I filed the plating away. This product contains no copper, and the author is lying! I'm not sure what metal alloy it is that can't be soldered instead of crimped for a secure connection. The gauge thickness is also less; it's not copper, but a strange alloy that can't be soldered, and there's less material in the make-up (thinner gauge). USE ONLY FOR BASIC INDOOR PROJECT HOOK UP AND NOT FOR WORKING WITH RESPONSE OR CORROSION PROBLEMS. EXCEPT FOR THE FALSE INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THE VENDOR, THE PRICE POINT IS GOOD.
Buying connectors in bulk may be less expensive, but there will be bags of connectors strewn about. The connectors are packaged in a box that neatly organizes them. More connectors will be found in bags of the specific type you require, but this box is handy to have on hand for unexpected uses. If you have a specific job that requires a large number of one or two sizes of connectors, you should probably get the bags rather than the assortment.
The steel material in this box was extremely thin, despite the large number of terminal ends. These were even thinner than the Harbor Freight ends. I'm sure they're fine for stationary electronic use, but I'm not willing to risk a failure due to a terminal end in an automobile where everything vibrates.
I like to be organized, and that's exactly what this game is all about. You've gathered all of your connectors into one convenient location. There's no need to rummage through a plastic bag because everything is organized and has its own slot. I had plenty of connectors; I was just tired of rummaging through a bag of them in search of the one I needed. br>Do yourself a favor and read this article.
It's a good deal, but as you crimp them, they become a little flimsy and have a slightly less positive connection. The female spade connectors are a little too tight, making it difficult to slide them on to the male connector. As a professional who uses a lot of these, I have to say that they're good, if not great.
