Calculate the diameter of 8 gauge wire and order heat shrink that is two sizes larger. Because heat shrink can shrink to a third of its original size, a couple of sizes larger than the wire should suffice.

I'm using these with 2/0 cable to wire a 16, L16 battery, battery bank for a solar system and have had no problems

I made use of one of Ama's hydraulic crimpers. It appeared that I was able to crimp it tightly and get enough cable into it to make a solid connection. I was one bag short due to a minor miscalculation and had to order another. I'll be able to stock up on spares now! I'd buy it again without a doubt.

It's genuine copper, and it's very effective

I'm at a loss for words. They're genuine copper, thick enough to get a good hammer crimp on even the heaviest of 7-pounders. Strand wire has a good connection and hasn't corroded in months. It also says something that I was able to drill one out to accept a 3/8" lug without the bit grabbing it and twisting it into a pretzel.

The 3/8 hole, as well as the lack of copper around the hole, both bothered me. I chose 5/16 in order to ensure that the bolt on my battery, which I adored, fit snugly. I had to bore the 5/16 at a depth of 1mm, though. I didn't have to go any bigger for fit.

I rewired a Harbor Freight 12000lb Badland winch using these terminals. From the inside, the power cables were completely corroded. The value of these terminals is 0. ID = 400" x 0 500" OD, which is perfect for 1/0 InstallGear wire. The IWISS Cable Lug Crimping Tool worked well on them.

To be sure, it's a heavy-duty machine. I add the wire and crimp it in place. With the new connection facing down, clamp the wire to a holder a few inches away. Then fill with electric solder by heating from the tip.
