We had room for our larger, older multi-format DVD player, which lacked an HDMI output, after we got a new, smaller cable box. Our various devices are selected using an HDMI hub/switch. This was the only RCA to HDMI converter I could find on Amazon. It was very simple to set up. All of the cables are long enough to allow for a variety of installation options. It's convenient that it can be powered by USB or by two prongs. I was able to use a USB port on the cable box, which allowed me to free up a slot on our overburdened power strip. The HDMI cable was included with the adapter, which is small and light weight. I quickly set it up and it works fine, especially when compared to our other DVD player, which I used to go back and forth between the same credit sequence on a TV show we were binge-watching. Other than a slight increase in brightness from the player with the adapter, there is no discernible difference in sound or picture quality. So far, it has done everything I've asked of it, and I'm pleased with it. br>br>Mid-May 2020 Update: It has ceased to operate. The DVD player had stopped working. My star rating has been reduced to three. It worked for a little over a year before it stopped working.
It's also effective! My wife and I used to make home movies of my kids when they were younger and then had them converted to VCR tapes (. which was state-owned at the time the- technology and the arts). We kept the VCR and tapes over the years, but they couldn't be played on our current TV because it only had HDMI inputs; however, the AV to HDMI allowed me to connect the VCR to the TV and convert the analog signal to digital (unlike some of the cheaper "adapter wires"). The Dingsun unit also came with a new HDMI cable and new RCA wire, as well as an RCA extension if needed, which was a pleasant surprise.
The image quality is excellent. Please excuse my skepticism, but I don't think this device can withstand the heat for very long. I just hope it doesn't break down in the middle of a Church service.
" There is no software to download or install, unlike some other products. I simply connected one end to my old camcorder and the other to my computer, then pressed the play button. Simple and straightforward works well, and it is not overpriced like some others.
Two televisions, a receiver, two older game consoles, and an old VCR were all incompatible with this product. The device would not work no matter how I set it up.
This is how I attempted to connect my N64; and all I get is a really dark red screen that's all glitched up and screwed upbr>br>and it only does that for one game; the others don't even registerbr>br>the sound also fades in and out, and is of poor qualitybr>br>i don't usually leave bad reviews, but this is complete garbagebr>br> There isn't a single good thing about it.
I'm not a computer whiz, but this was simple to set up. I haven't had access to my VCR in years. I still have a few tapes that I'd rather not lose. I attempted to use a converter, but it failed miserably. Thanks to your help, I was able to simply plug in the connections and everything is working fine now.
There is no ghosting in the image at all.
