No, that is not the case. In order for the Sync box to work, it must be connected to a firestick, roku, or other similar device. Because we're all in the same boat with this issue, I'm confident that a solution will be found soon.
Yes. It can withstand 100 volts of electricity. 240 volts input
I connect my Apple TV and Nvidia Shield to my AVR using the Sync Box. I've had no trouble playing music that causes my Hue lights to light up in a rhythmic pattern. This is possible with the Hue Sync app's Music setting. However, you cannot play music directly on your computer; there may be a PC workaround, but I have no experience with that.
Connect the receiver's output to one of the Philips bar's inputs, then connect the bar to the television.

It'll be a waste of time. This will not work if you have a SmartTV, such as an Android TV, or if you use built-in TV apps. It requires an HDMI connection, which Smart TVs do not provide. There are some apps that claim to work on Smart TVs with this box, but most of them don't because of Digital Copyright protections that limit the screen capture required by those apps. br>br>I'm sure the device works well for those who have external HDMI outputs, but it's not stated anywhere that it won't work with Smart TVs with built-in streaming capabilities, which is why I gave it a low rating.
My 8- When a 12-year-old saw it, his jaw fell open: "I'm at a concert?" I exclaim. "It's incredible," says the narrator. br>br>Outside of a big screen TV, this is the best home AV upgrade I've ever made. br>br>However, if you're watching TV or a movie, you may want to use the app to reduce the intensity level. Low-intensity TV and high-intensity music are two of my favorite things. br>br>There are a few minor drawbacks to be aware of: A HDMI input is required. So, if you use a SmartTV, you'll need a source of input (Apple TV or something else).
It might be of assistance to you. Although this product is excellent, it does have a few flaws. Let's start with the difficulty of getting started. Because it wouldn't sync with my bridge, it took me two days to figure out how to set it up. Because I couldn't connect my phone to the bridge, I assumed it wasn't working properly. As a result, I replaced it, reconfigured all of my lights, and attempted to sync the Hue Play HDMI box with the new bridge. Despite being able to connect my phone to the new bridge, it still didn't work. So I looked on the internet for help and found that Philips does not have any useful troubleshooting information on the hue website; it does say to reboot it and try to sync it again by holding the button in until the blinking blue light appears, but that did not work either. It wouldn't sync or go past the set up entertainment space screen no matter how many times I did it. I was starting to lose faith in it and wanted to send it back. However, I was drawn to a Philips hue forum where I discovered that someone knew how to perform a hard reset to solve the sync boxing's most common issues. So I gave it a shot. Simply unplug the sync box for 20 seconds before plugging it back in and pressing the button. While holding the button, reconnect the sync box and continue to hold the button until a purple light appears, then release the button and try again. Sync the bridge with the box. That's what I did, and it worked for the most part. I'm now savoring the lights, which are absolutely stunning! One thing I wish you could do is adjust the brightness of each light separately from the overall brightness because I have lights on the sides of the room away from the tv that I'd like to dim more than the ones on the back. Apart from that, I adore this gadget; do you require it? No, but once you have it, you'll never want to watch television without them. I hope this information is useful.
This tiny box creates a fantastic atmosphere! As a result, do your homework! This product is compatible with some TVs, such as HDR 10, but not with HDR 10. The Hue Play HDMI Sync box performs well in the right setting, with the right TV and the right number of Hue lights (4 in the room), transforming your living room into a theatrical piece of art.
It's fairly simple to set up. Because it doesn't support HDMI passthrough, I'm forced to use two remotes again. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> HDMI passthrough now works after the box updated its firmware the next day. When using it, the arc and sound drop from time to time, and I've lost picture for 2 seconds while playing Overwatch, but it's a fantastic experience when it works. I'm happy I purchased it.
