Questions & Answers

Is it true that the "kickstand" should be: Is that bracket supposed to be installed as the lower of the two brackets, or is it supposed to reach downward?

The pole's weight is supported by the kickstand. From a physics standpoint, it makes more sense to have the kickstand pressing against the mounting surface (i.e., the kickstand is lower than the bracket), rather than the kickstand pulling away from the mounting surface (which would happen if the kickstand was mounted higher than the rest of the bracket). I'm not sure if it matters which of the two kickstand brackets you use, but I used the lower one.

Is this an 8" clearance or an 8" clearance to the mast's center?

The clamp base is 8" away.

What's the purpose of that tiny screw? It isn't shown in the finished product. ?

It appears to be a replacement screw for the third leg. There are five long screws in total, one of which can be replaced with a shorter screw if necessary.

What is the maximum load capacity of these brackets?

This is the heaviest mount I could come across. br>At the bottom, the triple leg set is crucial. br>I have a 15-foot steel pole and a medium-weight HDTV antenna on it. br>It's a rock-solid foundation. Just make sure it's secured to something sturdy.

Selected User Reviews For 8 Inch Heavy-Duty Antenna Wall Mount, 1 Pair

The sturdy mount is missing instructions, lock washers, and nylock nuts, and it appears to be made of solid galvanized steel, but it falls short without some adjustments or additions
3/5

There are no guidelines to follow. You'll probably be able to figure it out based on the picture. The bolts, both straight and U-shaped, are missing lock washers or my preferred solution of nylon lock nuts, which I'm concerned will loosen and turn due to wind vibrations. For something that will be bolted to my house, the machining is adequate. Maybe if they spent less than a dollar. 08 for lock washers, or possibly $0. This would be a five-star review if there were 24 more nylock nuts.

The quality isn't great, but it gets the job done
3/5

This was the only way I could post my weather station on the side of my house without having to worry about the roof overhanging. The brackets are functional, but the machining on both units is subpar. As a result, a bit of fitting was achieved through the use of bolts and strength. It's up and running, but at this price, one would expect a higher level of quality. If you don't have any other options, this will suffice.

It gets the job done
5/5

In general, it does the job; I would purchase it again. Instead of steel band wrap, I went with an 'anchored' type bracket. around' type of person. I don't plan to mess with it again for a long time once it's up, so I sprayed all of the parts with Rustoleum black semi-gloss spray paint before putting it together. All nut/bolts were replaced with stainless steel types from a local hardware store, and lockwashers were added, among other things, to further inhibit rust and corrosion. Use a HAMMER if you want to get the job done quickly. Drill holes for 3/8" Red Head sleeve anchors from Home Depot (used a 1/4" bit for a pilot hole) and follow their instructions with a DRILL (rented from a local tool rental shop). If at all possible, drill into the brick face instead of the mortar. Take your time and make sure it's'square'/vertical by using a level! The addition of a third leg to the bottom bracket is extremely beneficial. I had to 'convince' it a little, but it was no problem. It can support a ten-foot-tall object. 6" mast (galvanized fence top rail, $15 from HD, fantastic!) ) & It's a cinch to use. Scanner antenna was installed on the mast, and the mast was then reinstalled into the bracket. It's not moving at all. I'm very pleased with the product; it's a good value for money, and I'd buy it again!.

It's a bit shabby, misaligned, and the hardware is cheap
3/5

On this cheaply bent piece of metal, none of the holes line up perfectly. The bottom mount's stabilizer foot does not line up perfectly with the other mounting points. The lag bolts that come with the kit are inexpensive - When we were installing, one of them walked away. There are no washers, lock washers, or nylon nuts, and the pipe clamping mechanism has a hole in which a set screw should be drilled - not included in the package br>br>If you don't mind spending $5 on screws and bolts, go ahead and buy it. Otherwise, just get out of here.

Mount it on the wall
3/5

yes. Heavy-duty construction. No, not at all! These were purchased in order to mount a Ubiquiti IP Link on a 1-meter pole. The mounts were simple to use, but they aren't particularly sturdy. I used "Red Head" anchors to secure them to a concrete wall. It's a rough area there. When the wind blows, however, the brackets' lightweight steel moves around a lot. Overall, I'd say they're suitable for mounting on masts weighing less than 20 pounds. More than that, on the other hand, will almost certainly result in issues.

Although he appears to be strong, his feet do not appear to be flat
4/5

This mount appears to be very capable. Only use this mount if you're mounting to a hard surface that you don't mind damaging. The feet are not flat and will most likely flatten out as the tightening process progresses. That was a deal breaker for me because I don't like trusting how things will bend into place as they are tightened. This mount would be holding my antenna right now instead of being returned if the feet were flat and ready to install. I hope that this information is useful.

It is well-made
5/5

The product I received was well-made, extremely sturdy, and well-made. I used it to build a wind sock for a shed in my backyard, where we regularly have winds exceeding 50 mph. I had a feeling this mounting would be excessive. kill, and that's exactly what happened. I don't recall any of the fittings or feet needing to be bent to fit correctly against the wall, but isn't that what a vise is for? I'd buy it again. br>br>.

Very strong, but 1/4-inch lock washers are required
3/5

I gave them a three-star rating because the lock washers were missing. They're tough, and the lag bolts that come with them work well. br>However, if you don't get a small pack of 1/4 inch lock washers, the fasteners will eventually loosen. Also, there are no instructions in the box, but the pictures here make it easy to figure out what to do.
