It's possible to extend IR remote control distance by sending the IR remote control signals over CAT5 or CAT6 cables. The transmitter solution is wonderful for extending the distance available from the infrared remote controls. IR remote controllers are used with Ethernet cables to manage multiple IR devices through doors, cabinets, floors, walls, or other barriers with a reach of 800 ft using CAT5 or CAT6 cables. When IR-controlled electronic equipments are placed out of sight, the user can still operate them within a range of 800 feet/200 meters.

It can only receive IR signals within a frequency range of 30 kHz to 50 kHz. There is no support for 56Khz type IR signals.

Suitable for the job

My experience with other IR repeaters, specifically BAFX's product with 3 remotes, has been mixed. This connector has a 5mm diameter. For a cable length of 100 feet, they worked intermittently at best. In my experience, this CAT5/6 extender kit works extremely well with CAT 5e cable of approximately 450 feet. The length of the rope is 100 feet. As a result, you do not have to worry about the placement of the heads at your gear as the output signal is very strong. Receive a signal from the set top box) and it will pick it up. It's been several months since I bought it, and I haven't had any problems with it. As I was not in a position to need their tech support or adhesion, I gave them a rating of 0.

I love the ease of use, and it is wonderful

Play as soon as you plug it in. Reading the instructions barely requires any effort, but it's still wise to do so. Since you are more knowledgeable than I am, you would know that you only need the one DC adapter The cable line is easier to run through the wall than through the frame.

According to its description, the product works correctly. There are other products that will carry the video and the control signals over the same Cat cable if you want to get video from the source to the other location, but using Cat cable is a waste.
