It is true. Our sales staff is available to ship to Mexico, but the price has proven to be prohibitive at times. Please email me with a quantity you plan to order from Amazon and I will provide a freight cost. I am not sure how to do this, but Amazon will assist

Does this have a fireproof and water-resistant coating? Is there evidence?

There is nothing fancy about this case its just a simple lockable plastic carry bag. When we rotate our tapes weekly, we use it to transport them to an offsite storage facility.

The LTO case fits perfectly. The case is well constructed and robust. A great way to protect yourself. The product is easy to transport and store. It does what it is supposed to do, so I won't write anything else.
