What you are asking is not clear to me. In this case, you can't use a digital out from your dvd player to connect to the analog inputs on your receiver. Instead, you need to connect analog (red/white) outputs from your dvd player to the red/white inputs on your receiver using two RCA cables. Then this could work, but you don't need two inputs. Your dvd player's digital output can't be connected to an analog input without some kind of intermediary device. Just connect your dvd player to a digital input on your receiver, and you're done.

The cost of this was less than that of other similar designs. I find one design with the SVS small gold adapter to be acceptable. However, the female outputs are indeed too close together on that design. Y adapters eliminate any signal interference, and I prefer them over the X adapters. recently purchased new SVS subs, so old subs went into my screened in porch, which had an AV receiver with only a single subwoofer output, and the adapter made it up to the old subs. I had 3 bass sources - 2 12" subs and a bass transducer - but only one LFE output on my amplifier (talk about first world problems!).
