In many cases, only a small amount of cleaning solution is required. For instance, a couple of drops 4- 6 across the cleaning pad will keep it damp for 3 days. 4 albums, with the stylus solution lasting even longer. On the small stylus cleaning pad, only one brush from the solution bottle should be used.
You don't have to, but it makes things a lot easier if you use the turntable. It's also a good idea to use the 45 or 78 settings. Keep in mind that everything in the kit is only meant to clean the surface. Something more akin to the spin clean will suffice for a deep clean. br>For the vinyl-style kit, only clean one edge of the pad, then turn on your record player and apply. You can now clean it up with the dry side of the pad. Cleaning the pad with a microfiber is a good idea on a regular basis because it will collect a lot of dust and other debris. on the pad more quickly than one might expect. Hopefully, this has been of assistance.
This is a system for removing dust and static electricity. You won't be able to do anything if your record has a deep scratch. Setting the arm of your record player correctly can help, but for deep scratches, it's best to look for a new one.
When I use it, I simply spin the record by hand to save the turntable from wear.

So far, everything has gone according to plan. It's important to remember that this is only for cleaning the SURFACE of the records. It does not provide the DEEP CLEANING required for really soiled or moldy records; for that, you'll need a vinyl styl called "record washer" or something similar. Fortunately, I kept all of my old records in excellent condition. I do have two minor complaints: 1) the fluid has a strong odor and does not dry as quickly as the Discwasher D4 record cleaning fluid. Someone suggested making your own by combining 1 part rubbing alcohol with 2 parts distilled water, which I have yet to try. AND 2) I'm not convinced that the anti-static brush actually works. It has been claimed that it scratches records by some. So far, none of mine has been scratched. The stylus cleaner is extremely effective. Although the cleaning pad works, I recommend having two of them, one for washing and the other for drying. When it comes to cleaning, I use a discwasher pad and a v. one for the drying process It is ESSENTIAL that you brush them clean after each use.
I put my trust in this to clean my rare records, which are worth thousands of dollars. It was a little unnerving at first mustering the courage to use these chemicals on my prized collection, but it did not disappoint. It reduces the amount of dust on your record when used as directed.
This was my first vinyl cleaning kit, and I chose it after reading reviews of similar kits. The reviews on this kit are accurate; it's simple, easy to use, and it's almost satisfying to watch all of the dust and dirt fall off the record you're cleaning. I strongly advise anyone who wants to keep their records as clean and pristine as possible to do so.
Bone Dry! The bristles of the carbon fiber brush appear to have been mashed. The bristles of the stylus have been flared out (as seen in the photos). This appears to be a very low-cost product with even lower company quality control. This is something I will not recommend or buy again.
Not in excess. I can brush those aside, but I shouldn't have to double-check them after cleaning.
As I write this, I'm listening to the effect, and it does indeed clean a stylus!.
brush for making static records I had high hopes for this kit to aid in the preservation of my records, but the anti-theft feature proved to be a stumbling block. My record was severely scratched by the static record brush that came with this kit. I followed the instructions to the letter and even watched their YouTube instructional video. It left hairline scratches all over the record. I used the brush with very little pressure, and it still left scratches. I have a portable hard drive with a shiny plastic case, which I gently brushed with the anti-static cloth. The surface was scratched due to the static record brush. I also used the brush on a Blu-ray disc with great care. It scratched the blu-ray disc as well. Although the brush is soft to the touch, something in the materials easily scratches records and other surfaces. I attempted to return it, but Amazon stated that it was not returnable. I've attached some photos of just a few of the brush-caused hairline scratches - The scratches are all over the vinyl, as far as I could see in the light.
I've been using this product for a long time. I just got a new one to replace the one I had for the past 5 years. It cleans my records extremely well, and I am very pleased with it.
