IF there is a surfactant in this, it’s less than 1% of the On the records, the compound simply beads up. It's not just plain distilled/deionized H2O because it bubbles up when you shake it; however, unlike most detergents, it retains surface tension, so it doesn't spread into the grooves of the records as well as, say, the Groovewasher G2 fluid—another alcohol-based fluid. Compound that is free of charge and does not harm records. br>br>Also, I don't use the word "detergent" in this context (puns). It is, in my opinion, necessary to thoroughly clean records. br>br>It appears to clean quite well, at least when compared to the previously mentioned G2 fluid — similar cost, similar results. For new records, one pass is sufficient, but for everything else, at least two passes are required to remove the layers of fingerprints and other debris. br>br>The mister on my bottle mists in a short radial cloud that requires multiple spritzes to cover the record (especially since there is no stronger surfactant). 8 spritzes were required. To cover one side, repeat this process 9 times. It only took three minutes to transfer some of the compound to my empty G2 bottle, which has a much better mister. 4 spritzes to cover the next side. br>br>Overall, it's a good cleaner that I'd recommend, though I'd also suggest the G2 fluid and possibly more- so much more than this.

Like no one's business, it cleans vinyl. I found exactly what I needed. My vinyl comes out dustless, glossy, and pop-free when I use a quality velvet vinyl brush and a clean microfiber towel from Zwipes, both of which I bought on Amazon. free. Also, after using this product to clean/treat my albums, they are far less likely to attract dust. 10/10, would purchase again, though the 8 oz. The bottle appears to be large enough to last me a long time. Overall, this is a great product that shipped quickly, arrived undamaged, and performs as expected. Added bonus: It is designed and manufactured in the United States of America.

It's fantastic! I was using a 'home' recipe solution for cleaning my vinyl that I found online and it worked great. This product, on the other hand, not only appears to clean the grooves well, but it also significantly reduces surface noise in my experience, and the solution leaves the vinyl looking very black again, almost renourished if you will, with a nice sheen to the platter. br>br>This product, on the other hand, not only appears to clean the grooves well, but it also uses isopropyl alcohol, which I believe dulled the vinyl and did nothing to clean up surface noise. br>br>I am extremely pleased and satisfied with this product, and I plan to continue using it.

I purchased 8 fluid from Amazon a few months ago and have been using it on every album I've played since then. I'm very particular about the sound and condition of my records, and I'd been using the old Discwasher fluid and brush for years, but I discovered that the Discwasher fluid available in recent years didn't compare to the effectiveness of the product from the 1970s and early 1980s. This is the first product I've found that matches the old DW fluid in quality. I use two pumps of Lasermedia fluid on my vintage Discwasher brush, which thoroughly cleans each album. It lasts a long time, is album-safe, and is also reasonably priced. It also aids in the removal of static electricity. I'm sold.

I've never left a review before, but after using this garbage, I feel compelled to do so. I tried it on about 15 albums over the course of two weeks and it didn't work. It will make your vinyl look nice, but it will not remove dirt or surface noise; distilled water is far superior. I'm so irritated that I gave in to the advertising and bought something. It's beyond me how they sell this and Amazon stocks it.

This is top-notch stuff! I "wet clean" my records with a Revolv Goat's Hair Brush and this formula. In addition, I dry my LPs with a microfiber towel. This Vinyl Record Cleaning Spray lifts the dirt right off, and the goat's hair brush really loosens it up. I recommend using a carbon fiber brush first to remove any loose surface dirt, and then spraying liberally on the LP's surface with this formula. After one minute, I use a goat's hair brush to gently loosen dirt from the grooves of the record, and then I clean my LPs with a microfiber cloth, and the dirt and finger prints come right off the record's surface. The proof is in, and every time I play an LP, I check the stylus for dust, and this formula leaves very little dust on the record, and my stylus usually has very little dust on it after I play a cleaned LP. For cleaning vinyl LPs, I recommend using this formula. The only disadvantage is that the way the bottle's nozzle sprays the LP usually results in me getting my label wet.

This product will cause me to re-evaluate my current situation. All of my records must be cleaned. This is the best cleaning fluid I've ever used when combined with a Disc Doctor cleaning pad and a Nitty Gritty vacuum system.

Vinyl has been collected and played for the past 20 years. This is the best that is currently available, as far as I am aware. I prefer to clean by hand, and this is ideal for that. There are no streaks if you use a clean, soft cloth. br>br>I'll keep buying this until it changes or is phased out of production. Like the majority of good cleaners do in the end. hehe It may appear to be more corporate/less indie, but it's still great music. It's also compatible with monitors and CDs.
