What is the connection between this and my television? Is the cord long enough, and do I need to plug it into an outlet as well?

Thank you for asking this question, Becky Brooks. This uses a coax cable to connect to a TV and does not require power. The length of the coax cord is 5 feet.

Is this antenna compatible with TVs that aren't HD?

Thank you for showing interest in our products, ET123. Although an amplifier may be required, this antenna is excellent
5/5

I purchased a flat indoor antenna at first. It worked well, except that in my area (Nashville, TN), NBC and PBS broadcast on VHF rather than UHF. The flat antenna did an excellent job picking up UHF local channels, but it was unable to pick up VHF channels. So I bought this antenna that claimed to be able to do both. It was easy to set up, and I was able to watch NBC and PBS almost immediately after some tweaking. UHF is represented by the round wire, while VHF is represented by the "rabbit ears. " An internal round wire ran through my flat antenna, but there were no rabbit ears. However, I noticed that my UHF signals were not as strong as when I used my flat antenna (which came with an amplifier). So I connected this antenna to the amplifier that came with my previous antenna (most amplifiers/boosters are universal), and it worked perfectly. There are more positive signals everywhere. So now I have the same number of channels as the flat antenna, but I can easily receive NBC and PBS! This antenna is fantastic!.

Phillips has a long history of providing excellent service, and this customer was not disappointed
5/5

I purchased a number of antennas to assist small businesses with four or more employees. (Four and a half), (Fourth) Ratings of 1/2 and 5 (Five) have never worked for me. I looked into Rabbit Ear Antennas after reading that they could help me with my problem. Phillips Rabbit Ears are the VERY BEST RABBIT EAR ANTENNAS I'VE TRYED FOR THE FIRST TIME. They have the lowest star rating, are inexpensive, and by far the VERY BEST RABBIT EAR ANTENNAS I'VE TRYED FOR THE FIRST TIME. THE VERY BEST TEN DOLLARS. I'VE MADE A ONE HUNDRED AND THOUSANDTHOUSANDTHOUSANDTHOUSANDTHOUSANDTH I figured I couldn't go wrong with a well-known, reputable company that's been in business for at least as long as I've been alive. Thank you Phillips for not letting me down for such a long time. Judi Jetson is a well-known television personality.

I used to use it with an amplifier, but I no longer do
4/5

Is this something that I would recommend? Yes - But only with an amplifier, and only if you can put it right up against the window (especially for VHF). br>br>The broadcast towers are only 30 miles away. With this, however, I still required a $15 amplifier. Of course, the window provided the best reception. br>br>However, due to the VHF dipoles, it did bring in two more channels than my flat amplified antennae. br>br>I was mostly satisfied with this, but the VHF signal was still weak, and PBS would drop out. It was eventually replaced with a ClearStream dipole, and my flat antenna was reattached. br>br>First, set aside at least an hour to scan and re-scan all of your documents. re-scanning and re-tuning channels your antenna's position That is something you must always do, regardless of the antenna you purchase. You'll be surprised at how much a small shift in direction can affect things. Second, I believe that you will always need an amplifier unless you live right next to a tower. I bought the GE one specifically for the dipole (one amplifier on the dipole, and a flat antenna amplifier). I'm able to get 52 channels with the two of them together, up from 30 with just a flat antenna and zero without even trying. ) A new digital amplifier is now available on Amazon for the same price as a GE amp, and it appears to be quite interesting. It has a meter and is powered by USB (no cables required; it draws power from your TV's empty USB port). )br>br>Finally, if you can't put an antenna outside or in your attic, the best place to put one is almost always by the window. To get it to the window, you can purchase a coaxial cable extender.

Get rid of your cable bill! Súper- It's easy to put together, and it can hang on the wall or sit on a table
5/5

I received 23 clear channels, which I did not receive with a previous more expensive antenna from Radio Shack. Outside some of the windows in the room where I use it, there is a 6 foot fence, and outside another window, there is a forest. That, I assumed, was why the previous antenna couldn't get good reception. That didn't seem to be the case. By canceling cable, I was able to save $90 per month!.

It really works
5/5

I had a pair of RCA rabbit ears that were quite long and worked fine, but one of the ears broke off while I was fidgeting with it due to the length. Despite the fact that it only had one ear, it continued to work flawlessly for years. But it was an eyesore, so I finally decided to replace it with this Phillips one. br>The "ears" aren't as high as my old one, but it works just as well, which impressed me. Without the two-foot-long metal ears protruding into the air, it's a lot more visually appealing. I never have to touch it or move it, and the picture on my TV is always crystal clear. br>I get anywhere from 15 to 20 per cent of the time. I'm perfectly content with 20 broadcast channels. If you don't want to spend a lot of money on an antenna, this is a great option. My previous one lasted for more than 5 years, and I expect this one to last at least as long. This book comes highly recommended.

Before investing in a more expensive antenna, you should definitely try this one out first
5/5

Get my local stations, which have excellent picture quality. Don't waste your money on a high-priced antenna like I did; it's not worth it. I ended up returning it and replacing it with this, which is of higher quality. I give it five stars.

PnP is not something you should expect
4/5

If you're willing to play around with antenna placement and placement, this unit can deliver good results for the money. It's not a plug-and-play (PnP) system. Depending on how far your TV is from a window, you may need an extension antenna cable, which costs around $7. If you're willing to put in an hour or two of work and have a good, direct signal from your local TV towers (do your homework), you can save a lot of money and get a lot of channels, including CBS, NBC, ABC, and a bunch of other local stations. Just be prepared to adjust to a new set of local stations that aren't available on cable. Because a large number of stations in my NYC metro area broadcast on VHF, it is far superior to the flat wall antennas for my area. UHF signals are better received by flat antennas. You must also conduct research in this area. br>br>If you want to get rid of cable, are willing to watch news and movies on a different channel, and want to spend as little money as possible, this unit might work for you. Just keep in mind that a good signal from the TV towers is required, with no interference from interior walls or external structures.
