Questions & Answers

Is this something that could be used for a 2019 21st? 5 iMacs with 4K resolution?

The tape strips are compatible with a 27-inch monitor. The notches' length and placement are inappropriate for a 21-year-old.

If the machine needs to be re-programmed, how difficult is it to get this adhesive off? re-sealed with these strips after being opened?

It's not too difficult to get rid of. My computer's screen fell off while I was sleeping just a week after I used those strips. I replaced the screen, but the logic board was damaged, and now I'm stuck with a 2020 i9 iMac that won't turn on. br>br>Instead, I would suggest using 3M strips.

Is there a diagram somewhere that shows how to use it? The strips appear to be perplexing and fragile, so a diagram should be included either on this product page or in the box. ?

If you're talking about where the strips should be installed, I had the same question until I looked it up on Ebay, where I found a diagram. The number 11 goes in the top left, the number 12 in the top right, the number 13 in the right side, and so on, clockwise.

Is there any way to tell if this will work on the Late 2013 14,1 iMacs? 5”?

It is compatible with the iMac 21 from late 2013. Machine with a height of 5"

Keep your distance from me
3/5

After using this product, two different screens fell off; I'm an Apple consultant and usually get these from another source, but they were out of stock and I needed some right away. So I bought a bunch of them and put them on my customers' iMacs. One client contacted me four months after the installation to say his computer screen had fallen off while he was working on it. Fortunately, he was able to capture the show. He brought it to me, and I reinstalled the iFixit gasket, and everything worked fine after that. A client called me the other day to say that their screen was not working properly. Unfortunately, this occurred over the weekend, and one of the computer's cables ripped out, rendering the screen useless. These gasket kits will never be used by me, and I strongly advise against them.

There are no instructions with this product, which is a shame because it is a good I put it to use for the number twenty-one
4/5

5 in 2017 iMac base version, appears to be a good product, and I'm still holding on to the screen. The only issue I had was that there were no instructions for using it. There is a picture online that shows which strips go where, but it doesn't show how to use the strips, such as which side to pull first and how to stick it, so I had to watch some YouTube videos to figure out how to use it. The included tool for removing the screen was useful, and I'm glad they included extra wheel blades because I broke the first one because I wasn't paying attention.

This is what you will need to open and close your iMac
4/5

This was precisely what I was looking for. There's no need to spend more money on a kit that includes tools you won't use. The rolling wheel is small, but it does exactly what you need it to do. I had no problems opening my 2015 21" iMac. Clean off all excess adhesive with a scraper tool. br>br>It would have been nice to have a diagram in the box to show where the stickers go, but it was simple enough to look up. br>br>Take your time scraping off any old adhesive and placing your strips very carefully. Without a doubt, watch a video to see how simple it is before attempting to figure it out; once they are open and stuck, they are difficult to repair, and you only get one set of strips.

It does the job, but it does so with a little finesse
4/5

I needed to reseal a 27" iMac for the second time, and I was glad to see that this kit was available for purchase. You can reseal the display yourself after opening your computer if you're patient, careful, and have a steady hand. br>br>The kit includes the required adhesive strips, a cutter for removing the display from the old adhesive, and very little else. This is the point at which I have a problem. Include a set of instructions, or a piece of paper with a URL to a set of instructions, at the very least. (Instructions are available on the iFixit website if you're looking for them. ) The kit is fairly simple to put together once you have the instructions. The only other issue I had was with some of the peel-off stickers. The adhesive strips' backing was not cut well enough, making removal difficult. Only one of the strips had this problem, with the tabs peeling off instead of the backing that was supposed to be removed. It made adhering that strip a little more difficult, but everything worked out fine in the end.

It worked on an iMac 27" from late 2015
4/5

It was used to re-enact a scene. I'm going to use my iMac as a screen. Everything worked fine, and the installation went without a hitch. I believe the adhesive will last for a long time. There are a couple of drawbacks to be aware of. 1. br>br> The tape is supposed to be made for the iMac, and it is, but there is one corner where the tape will stick out (though it won't be noticeable unless you look very closely).
2. This is why you have been docked one star. The wheel tool is made out of flimsy plastic. It bends, making it more difficult to separate the adhesive; they provide extra wheels, but I believe they should re-package the wheels after you've used half of the pack; and they should re-package the wheels after you've used half of the pack; and they should re-package the wheels after you've used half of the pack Look it over. Overall, if you need to replace the hard drive in your Mac, this is a must-have item.

Good product
5/5

Good product. Easy to set up and keep the screen in place. The cutting tool is excellent, and it is just the right size to avoid damaging the camera during the process of removing the old screen. I've noticed that many people are concerned that the new screen will break after a short period of time. This is due to the fact that the previous film's remnants are not properly limped. I always follow the following guidelines: Neither abrasive materials nor industrial solvents should be used to clean the residuum. To remove the residues, use isopropyl alcohol; I did all of this, and my screen became as solid as a rock.

It was great until a week later when my screen started to fall off
3/5

It was very simple to use and worked well until I was working and noticed the bottom of my screen slid forward; thankfully, I was working at the time and noticed it before the entire front of my screen crashed down. My husband had to hold the screen in place with painters tape until I could order another adhesive tape strip. Ugh, I have some crafters tape that would work just as well.

It has a good grip
5/5

I had no issues with this on my 2013 27" iMac. The stickiness is excellent. I thought I'd break my screen glass taking apart my iMac the next day because it was so good. After I had sealed everything up from a hard drive swap on Saturday, dummy me left one of the speakers open. On Sunday, Amazon was able to deliver a new set of adhesive the next day, and boy was it difficult to separate. Make sure you remove as much of the Apple foamy adhesive as possible before applying this stuff, and you should be fine. br>br>There are no instructions, but it isn't difficult to figure out. The bottom adhesive is applied to the screen, while the top and sides are applied to the iMac unibody.
