My macbook pro is a new 16-inch model. Because of this cover, there was a slight buldge when it shut. I didn't think much of it until I noticed a crack in the middle of the screen caused by pressure from the cover the other day. After only a month, my new Macbook Pro's screen needs to be replaced. I'm glad I have applecare, but I'd rather not have had one of my two incidents within the first month of owning it. br>br>I would strongly advise against using this with the new MacBook Pros.
Yes. We had a MacBook Air with us, and it worked perfectly. Simply wait for the webcam cover to center the camera opening.
It is not compatible with Logitech webcams. The hole isn't large enough because it's so small. I'm hoping to be able to assist you in some way.
That, I believe, would be the case. The majority, if not all, of ape products are smooth and non-sticky. edges that are elevated Consider simple, not tacky, lines. I'm not sure why these camera covers wouldn't work with any laptop that didn't have the raised edges or other features I mentioned. Best wishes to you. One of these is on my HP laptop, one is on our daughters' school computers, one is on my wife's work computer, and two are on our desktop computers. So far, everything has gone well!

br>br>I'd been using the webcam cover for about a month when the screen display began to display a pink line coming down from the middle and then went completely black. I didn't throw it away or move it. I only did one thing: I closed my laptop every night, as is customary. br>br>Apple's new model, despite being "Ultra-Thin," appears to have a thinner screen display, and this cover, despite being "Ultra-Thin," appears to have a thinner screen display. "thin" would serve as a piece of debris. Apple's warranty would not cover this because it is not caused by a faulty product. That would mean I'd have to cover the entire cost of the damage, which is absurd! CloudValley should have put a disclaimer on the front page about this! br>br>Again, do not purchase this item if you have a recent Macbook Pro!.
On my new MacBook Pro, I loved how discreet these camera covers were. They had the appearance of being a part of the computer and were extremely simple to operate. I noticed a crack on my screen beneath the cover about a month after installing these on my computer. When I went to investigate further, I accidentally touched the screen, which turned black. My entire display was unresponsive, and the only thing I could see was an internal crack running the length of the screen. br>br>Until I read these reviews, I didn't believe there was a link between the cover and the damage. Others have had the exact same issue as me, with the exact same crack in the exact same location. These camera covers aren't worth the price of having to replace your entire display. Please use caution when doing so.
Within 24 hours of installing this cover on my brand new 2020 MacBook Pro 16", it created a pressure point on my screen, which broke my screen while the laptop was closed. My screen will not be replaced for less than $300. br>br>The next day, I shut down my laptop, and when I picked it up off the table, I heard a'snap,' and my screen is now broken just below where it sat. Take note that I've never had a broken screen on any of my iPhones, iPads, or laptops (including my HPs) - Always store everything in a case and take care of it. I wouldn't have bought a new MacBook Pro if I didn't need more RAM, and my 2014 MacBook Pro is still in like new condition after 6 years. I can't recommend this product to anyone unless this company sends me a check for my new screen. It's clear that it's not designed for MacBooks, so if you're a Mac user, I'd avoid it.
I must say, I'm blown away. I wasn't expecting much (in fact, I ordered a few different kinds to compare). Before placing my order, I was concerned that the sliding cover would move too easily and/or fall off at some point. Mind you, I literally JUST installed this on my laptop (Dell XPS), so this isn't a review based on the product's long-term viability; rather, it's just my first impressions. It was very simple to set up. They give you small, clear adhesive strips to use instead of your fingers to better control placement of this TINY doohickey (see photos). The cover does not slide with normal device movement and requires a little more force than simply touching it to move (see video for demonstration). I'm not sure if it'll loosen with use or if the adhesive will fail, so I'll update it after a while. It also appears that the adhered piece's rim has a lip that prevents the cover from falling off. Yay! Unlike my old (cheap) sticky note cover, this one completely blocks out the light from the outside and produces a black screen when the camera is covered (see photos). My laptop screen also closes almost completely flat, so I needed something extremely thin to prevent screen damage. In terms of thickness, this is as close to perfect as you can get (see photo). So far, everything has gone well. I intend to apply the second one to my Samsung Galaxy S9 once I am confident that it will withstand the test of time (I already know it will fit with my cover on). Let's hope for the best!.
I used to just slap some electrical tape over my laptop's webcam, but I decided to try something a little less trashy this time. I read the cover's measurements, but I had no idea how small this webcam cover is. It's easy to see how small it is in the first photo. Put two of these in an SD card case and you've got a nice package. I was afraid the small lens hole wouldn't fit, but as you can see in the second photo, it does. br>I read several reviews in which people had installed them incorrectly. I installed the cover with a pair of tweezers. It worked perfectly, and the cover appears to have come straight from the factory.
I used to think that putting something in front of your camera was only done by paranoid government officials, but 1. That is a major concern, as well as 2. This device is useful in everyday situations as well. I work for a company that uses a lot of conference lines with outside clients, and having this manual option to prevent others from seeing my video gives me a lot of peace of mind. When opened, it does not cover the lens and is extremely simple to use. I also appreciate how small it is and how it does not interfere with my laptop's ability to close properly.
this is an old issue With confidence, work from home! Join those Web Ex's quickly while wearing only a towel because you're late, and don't worry about your team seeing you bare-chested. Leaning over your desk with your chest puffed out! br>br>No one wants their webcam to be covered in unsightly electrical tape. This solution is ideal for people who use their webcam frequently but want an extra layer of security to keep it hidden until they're ready to use it. **2020 Edit Re: br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br 2017- ** Surprisingly, I used this on a 2018 Macbook Pro 15" and had no issues with cracked or damaged screens. I'm guessing it has more to do with how well you care for your laptop and the bag you carry it in (don't put too much pressure on the MBP), but I took mine to Tokyo and back every day for two years and it was in perfect condition.
