Questions & Answers

Is this a Bluetooth keyboard?

Yes, but Bluetooth isn't a requirement. The keyboard can still be used on a computer without Bluetooth (such as many Windows desktop PCs) if the recharging cable is connected to a computer's USB port. Note that the included cable is relatively short, so a USB extension cable would be required for an enduring cable run going all the way behind a desk and down to a computer on the floor if the keyboard's battery dies and needs recharging right before a work deadline.

Is there a backlight on this keyboard?

There is no backlight on this item.

Is it possible to use the magic keyboard and mouse on the same MacBook Pro at the same time?

Yes, multiple devices can be linked to a single host system. Just keep in mind that as you pair more bluetooth devices (especially older and new ones at the same time), the bluetooth may lag as it switches between bluetooth revisions. It's usually not a big deal, but every now and then my Mac will freeze for a second (and the tech logs will show that bluetooth connectivity failed to connect), but it clears up in a minute. They can be paired with multiple devices if you have more than one computer or device where you want to use the keyboard (such as Apple TV), but you must switch the input or turn bluetooth off (or disable the device) on the one you don't want to use the keyboard right now. This is only a problem if both the laptop and the computer are in use at the same time. Both Macs are turned on at the same time and are in Bluetooth range of one another.

Are the keys identical to those on the 2017 MacBook Pro?

The newer MacBooks have a butterfly mechanism, which provides very short travel and a firm feel but has had issues with dirt getting under the keys and incapacitating the keyboard, which Apple may or may not have fixed in the 2018 version with a dirt barrier. The magic keyboard has a reliable scissor mechanism that has been reengineered for a shorter travel distance. It takes a while to get used to, but I'm starting to enjoy it. The mechanism is described as follows by Apple: "Enhanced stability is provided by a scissor mechanism beneath each key, while optimized key travel and a low profile provide a comfortable and precise typing experience."

FINALLY! a wireless ten For the Mac, a key! Apple HAS FINALLY LISTENED TO ITS BUSINESS CUSTOMERS AND HAS RELEASED THE MAGIC KEYBOARD WITH 10-FUNCTIONAL KEYS
5/5

Key. I've been a Mac user for a long time and have always wanted to be able to use a wireless keyboard; however, after trying both the Logitech K750 for Mac and the Kanex MultiSync Aluminum Mac Keyboard with mixed results, I assumed it was a lost cause because Apple's Magic Keyboard didn't include the 10-finger touchpad. Key. Then, last week, I discovered this one and purchased one. Here are my thoughts on the subject: Advantages: br>br> 1) It has the same solid appearance and feel as the original Magic Keyboard. That's a big plus for me because the others I've tried have been flimsy. br>2) The internal battery can be recharged using the Lightning port on the back of the device. It's the same cable that the iPhone uses, so it'll work perfectly. 3) It is extremely light - It weighs around 1 pound. br>4) Because it's an Apple keyboard, all of the function keys work as they should (this isn't the case with aftermarket keyboards because they can't access those parts of MacOS). br>5) It lacks the keystroke lag found in other aftermarket keyboards. br>6) It lacks the wake-up feature found in other aftermarket keyboards. from- Other aftermarket keyboards have the sleep issue that this one does not. br>br>Cons: br>1) It took Apple far too long to release this. br>2) The price is exorbitant, with an MSRP of $130. I wasn't surprised, though, because I'm an Apple user. br>3) It comes in only one color scheme: aluminum/white. Because the MacBook is the most popular Apple computer, it would be great if it came in aluminum/black (along with the other new MacBook color schemes). br>br>Overall, I'm happy with mine and intend to purchase more as needed.

If you make a "slight" modification to it, it's a fantastic keyboard! This was purchased to replace the original bluetooth keyboard that came with my iMac four years ago
4/5

This is a 5-keyboard. If it didn't lay completely flat, it would get a star. It does not have a flip-flop. up legs for a more comfortable angle and less stress on the carpal tunnel To give it a small lift, I hammered a 1/4" diameter wood dowel into the bottom (see photo). It's now almost on par with my old trackpad, which is four years old. This simple fix is what I propose to address the only flaw I can see. Perhaps Apple will take notice of this review and release an updated keyboard!.

It's amazing how long it took Apple to release a bluetooth keyboard with a numeric keypad after all these years
4/5

br>br>I have four of these (two of the white and two of the black/gray ones that came with my iMac Pros). PRO'S: br>br> br>• It's a lot of fun to work with. br>• Recharges with the included lighting cable (I don't care how long the battery lasts because my trackpad requires recharging much more frequently than the keyboard, so I just charge them both when the trackpad does). CONS: br>br> • It is not backlit (as you can see in the photos, I have my own motion sensing lights to do so). • It is not compatible with the trackpad. br> For those who want to connect the two, Apple could have easily made them magnetically attach. (I spoke with Twelve South, who informed me that no bridge is being built. ) )br>br>Other products that I recommend are shown below: br>• Standing/sitting desk that can be adjusted:  .

For Mac users, this is an excellent keyboard
4/5

I like the keyboard in general, but it is far from "perfect. " Although everyone has different preferences for what they want in a keyboard, it has the usual Apple quality. br>br>It has the usual Apple quality. I'm overjoyed that a full-size Bluetooth keyboard with a number pad has finally been released. I recently purchased a 2017 MacBook Pro with only USB-C ports. C connectors are a type of connector. As a result, the more wireless devices I can connect to it, the better. Otherwise, I deal with a lot of dongles because not many devices have USB-C ports yet. C cables. br>br>I've used non-alcoholic beverages in the past. I've used Apple bluetooth keyboards before, but they're almost always "Windows" keyboards with different "command" keys and function keys that don't work to control things like brightness, media playback, and so on, so it's nice to use an external keyboard where I can still control those things. It doesn't have replaceable batteries, which is a bummer, but the internal battery appears to last a long time; I've had it for a few months and haven't had to charge it yet. br>br>There are a few things that prevent me from giving this a full five stars. br>* I wish the feet could be flipped out so the angle could be adjusted. It's nearly flat on the ground. It's fine, but I'd prefer a bit more of a slant. br>* The keys to success - I'll admit that they're better than the new MacBook Pro keys, but they're still not ideal; I'd prefer nice mechanical keys with some travel. Backlighting is a feature that allows you to see what is behind you. br> I understand that this would deplete the battery more quickly, but it's nice to have the option. I prefer to work in a dimly lit environment, so having backlit keys would be ideal. br>br> These are more of a matter of personal taste in a keyboard than a flaw with this one. It appears to be the best keyboard to use with my MacBook Pro at the moment (for me).
