Beware of the Buyer: Hard EVA Shockproof Carrying Cases are not all created equal. (OK, so it's self-evident. ) ) I bought a "KhanKa Black EVA Shockproof Carrying Case" last year and was looking for a different color this year for a second drive I have; I wanted to be able to tell the two drives apart quickly, so I came across this case, the one from Lacdo, and decided to give it a shot. I'm glad I didn't order the red one, because neither of them would have worked for me. br>br>I've attached a couple of photos that show the differences between the new Lacdo case on the left and the older KhanKa case on the right. br>br>The first thing I noticed is how the protective divider is attached, which is visible in the photos I've attached. The divider on the Lacdo is sewn into the half of the case that would hold the drive, so it has to fold OVER the drive, as shown in the second picture (note how the KhanKa is designed so that the divider sits neatly over the netted pouch, fully protecting the drive from whatever is in the pouch). The next thing I noticed was that the Lacdo's elastic bands holding the drive in place are much thinner than the KhanKa's (third photo). Thinner bands, in my opinion, will imply lower band quality and longevity. We'll have to wait and see. The Lacdo case can't handle the thickness of the My Passport Ultra 2TB drive, as can be seen in the fourth and fifth photos, and it has to be forced shut if the USB cable is inserted into the pouch (as shown). Even with the cable inside (as shown), the KhanKa did not feel too tight to close. br>br>The Lacdo case had the advantage of being better formed in the width and length dimensions for this drive, but not in the depth. Although the KhanKa was a little too long for the journey, it did not appear to be a major issue. br>br>Overall, the Lacdo case did not impress me, and I would not recommend it for a drive as thick as the WD My Passport Ultra 2TB. It could be beneficial in the case of ultra-violet-sensitive individuals. external hard drives that are thin; Beware, though, of the unscrupulous buyer. br>br>NOTE: if you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, this is the place to be Both of these cases were purchased at full retail price, and I have no ties to either company. I did not receive any of the cases in this review for free or at a reduced price, as some others have, and I have given my honest opinions, which I have backed up with photos. I purchased two cases, one blue and one red, for my two thicker Seagate Backup Plus 4TB USB 3. 0 hard drives. There are no external hard disks connected to the computer. The cable is snugly tucked in, and the hard disk is shielded by a padded leaf. If the cable can be rolled really flat (see note below), a longer cable will work as well. When laying flat on top of the hard disk, the zipper easily closes around a short cable and an adapter. Apart from being a protruding catch-all, the one feature I dislike is the completely unnecessary black carabiner loop, which causes the case to stick up rather than lay flat. all contraption used when storing the case in a small space, e. Briefcase, for example. The lanyard and carabiner that come with the kit are of such poor quality that I would never use them. All- Overall, a good case for the money, but with a few unnecessary parts. Note: Rather than purchasing a dedicated connector cable, I decided to add a high-quality connector to my system. "AmazonBasics USB Type-C" is a product that has been given a rating of "AmazonBasics USB 3. 0 to C 1 Female Gen1 Adapter" (wonderful! It sits comfortably next to the short cable and does not obstruct the case from closing.

I'm not as picky as some of the other reviews about the padding flap that splits to cover the external hard drive; it doesn't lay completely flat, but it's not a problem when you zip it up. The color I requested is blue, but it is very different from what I received. It doesn't bother me because it appears to be a black-and-white photograph. ish color with a blue tint, but it doesn't appear to be the same color as the photo. I've seen other reviews where the blue is present and appears to be the same as in the photo, but I'm very pleased because it fits my WD My Passport for Mac 2TB. It's a sturdy hard case, and it's nice for the price; overall, I'm satisfied.

Because I'm old school, I don't trust cloud/companies/CEOs to protect my data and privacy, I needed a decent case to keep my very important new WD My Passport external backup drive safe while it was moved around and while it was kept in my fireproof safe. There were many options for portable cases for laptop drives on Amazon, but after doing some research, this one seemed to stand out for a few reasons that led me to choose it over others: Advantages. br>br> 1. br>br> When compared to a standard fabric/leather external casing, the semi solid casing will help prevent direct damage to the HDD in the event of a drop or hard hitbr>2. Just in case, the water resistance is a nice bonus.
3. There is plenty of room in the case for extras such as USB cables, important SD cards or USB sticks, and so on.
4. It's of good quality, and it doesn't feel like cheap Chinese junk. br>5. The lanyard and metal clips that come with it are a nice touch. br>br>Cons: 1. br>br> It may be too small for thicker 3-inch shoes. 4 terabyte laptop drives; however, my slim 2 terabyte drive fits perfectly. br>2. The external casing is easily dented and does not appear to be able to be removed.

I needed to travel with my hard drives and didn't want anything to happen to them, and while I haven't yet had to put this case through its paces in a worst-case scenario (and hopefully won't), I can tell that it is a very sturdy and protective carrying case. It has one side with nice, impact absorbing bubbles and two straps to secure your hard drive in, a middle piece with impact absorbing bubbles, and the hard drive case to surround your valuable hard drive with impact absorbing bubbles. The material is quite soft on the inside, so it will protect your hard drive, and there is a nice pocket on the other side for the cord and other small items you might want to bring along. I tried several hard drives in this case and they all fit, including the Seagate drive pictured, an older WD My Passport drive, and a Toshiba Canvio drive, indicating that it should fit most standard plug-n-play drives. If you travel with your hard drives at all, this case is a must-have.
