**Unmanaged switch**Port lights on the front and cabling on the back**External power converter**The I said it at the top and I will say it again here The 8-Day review does not apply to the 9-Day review Version of the port. I am 16 years old The port and the 24-hour It is impossible for this review to provide accurate information about port versions that have substantial differences in features and specifications. Therefore, I would like to say this. As such, it was time to get a separate wireless router instead of incorporating one into the computer.
You should beware! In comparison to what is described above, the design of the 8 port model SE3008 has drastically changed. In addition to the SE3008V2, there is now a SE3008V2. The ethernet and power jacks on the rear panel as well as the front panel lights were the reasons why I purchased two of these units on 7/17/2018. In the shipment I received, the SE3008V2 is the only model that has all the lights and ethernet jacks in the front, and no power jack in the back. Linksys should have called this something else since this is not the same model as the other one they are selling. There is some evidence that the design of the SE3005 has changed between July and September 2018. The Ethernet connectors are now on I have one that I purchased in July 2018, and that has the connectors coming out of the back. I think it's bad if you have this on your desk since you have messy cable mess in front of you and there is usually tension on the cable pulling the switch to one side. I am sending this back and will try to locate the "older" version in which the connectors are positioned on.
I chose to run my own cable through the walls. The wiring in two parts of my home had to be run through the wall so I needed some extra ethernet ports. This product was two for the price of one. In my LAN, I keep track of speed tests between my two computers. Ethernet CAT 6 cables were used for both tests. My small network has 30 connected devices (e. g. , ethernet or wireless telephones, speakers, iPads, laptops, desktop computers, set-top boxes, desktop computers, and set-top boxes) I also have a robot vacuum, a set-top box, and a weather sensor. (before adding this switch) between two desktop computers that run off the same NAT router turned out to be 980 Mbps throughput for both Testing was conducted after installing the switch and the results were the same.
There is one unfortunate feature in this setup that interfered with my ability to use it for home office IT setup. Apart from that, this is a very basic, well designed switch. It is located on the opposite side of the eight RJ45 ethernet jacks from the power It would have been a lot easier for me if it had been along the same side. It is not possible in the photo on Amazon to see the RJ45 jacks on the backside On the opposite side of the unit is the power jack, but this is not visible. In my case, I didn't make the correct inference when I saw it and ordered it. It seems like a minor quibble, but in the location where it was to have been placed, it would have been best to keep all of the cords and cables out of sight. You can find it As a rule, I run my cable assemblies behind my IT shelf to conceal the wiring in my office. Actually, I'd also like a switch that has an indicator light on the front panel of each port to show the traffic, and all wiring connections on the rear panel. wireless router is a great buy, with the quality you'd expect from Linksys, but I find it a bit too basic. I am not interested in hiding the entire switch because it is not practical for my IT furniture arrangement, nor would I want it to be hidden. That's why this one is going back. There are fancier units out there that I can look at.
