This was purchased specifically for my child to be able to do abc mouse. That is all there is to it. In this house, we aren't big on electronics, but we figured a tablet would be more convenient than a computer. Well. This tablet isn't up to the task at hand. It simply freezes and does not respond to abc mouse commands. It keeps claiming that it isn't connected to the internet, despite the fact that it is. It's going to be necessary for me to return. It simply isn't up to the task at hand. I'm sure it'd be fine for video games and movies, but as I previously stated, we don't do that in our home. It is unnecessary to spend too much time in front of the computer or on the television.
So far, I have to say that I am dissatisfied. One for each of my children, I purchased two of these. I've had to restart them several times a day since I received them because they get stuck on this loading screen at random. They'll be in the second half of the year. A random infinite load screen appears when you start a game or watch a video. I'm not sure what the problem is, but it's extremely aggravating. When they fix it in a software update, I'll update this review.
There was nothing that would load. However, it is a very attractive tablet. Has a great deal of potential. Unfortunately, I've already returned it to the box after only 10 minutes of use. I'm glad I had a chance to try it out before my daughter's birthday.
*UPDATE*
I have received my replacement and it is 100% better
I have received my replacement and it is 100% better
I have re Thank you to their customer service and technical support teams for reaching out and resolving the issue. You did an amazing job.
It's only been four days and it's already randomly rebooting and getting stuck on the blue Kids screen. The only way out is to hold the power button down and force the device to restart; I've even tried a factory reset. Even with a Prime membership, Amazon is sending a replacement, which will take another four days. This is completely unacceptable, and I am completely disappointed and disgusted. I've had the same problem with the children under the age of seven, and I'm also waiting for a replacement. As a result, two children are extremely dissatisfied with their tablet computers.
As a year-end/summer gift, I purchased this for my daughter. We had trouble getting the device set up right away. br>br>I spent two hours on the phone with tech support trying to get it to load the apps we'd installed, but it never did. Each time you want to update a component, you must do so manually. This happened 18 times in my case. It's a chore. It didn't solve anything in the end. I had to reinstall the apps after registering, deregistering, and reinstalling them. We could only access books by the time tech support arrived, and all other content was not loading (which they exacerbated). Overall, it was a huge disappointment for my child. We basically opened it, tried it out, provided two hours of tech support, and then returned it. br>br>The screen quality on the device is poor, with a blurry appearance. The materials used appear to be of poor quality. The app library is skewed towards little kids (kindergarten/first grade), and tech support is questionable (we had our support people stop chatting and just leave twice while we were working through issues). When I searched for apps, I couldn't even find any that were advertised on the box. There is a lot of low-quality material in the children's library. br>br>I believe it is critical for a children's device to be simple to use and work right out of the box. Watching your parents take your new toy and sit on customer service for hours is not a fun experience, so my first recommendation is to make it more user friendly and accessible. Most common Android tablets perform and look better than the Fire HB 8 kids pro when it comes to the basics. I don't usually write reviews, but this was such a bad experience that I felt compelled to try to prevent others from having the same bad luck as me. This tablet should be avoided. br>br> The silver lining to this dreadful experience was that the kids were able to play outside while I tried to fix it, indicating that this tablet is effective in preventing children from spending excessive amounts of time on their devices.
The battery died today, and I was able to turn it on by plugging it into the charger, but it's now frozen again. I'm extremely dissatisfied with this outcome. I've placed an order for a new one, and I'm hoping this was a one-time occurrence.
Allows my older child to do more; I can approve purchases on my phone or via email, and she can call me or her mother if she has access to the internet. Does more than her predecessor, which is ideal for her maturing personality.
She has a lot of fun with it.
