ended up adding a bunch of RAM, which was easy and inexpensive. I use it mostly for Adobe Premier Videos and it does a great job of rendering. It is well worth the price for a reliable machine. I have several Macs and they are solid systems that don't quickly slow down when running heavy.

As soon as I opened the Music app, it was malfunctioning. If this is the case, my Zoom apps will not work I could only hard crash my way out of the bizarre images displayed by my gaming apps when they froze and created spectacular black screens. My first 45 minutes were spent with Amazon support, then I spent 45 minutes with Apple support for the music issue. I had a series of awkward phone conversations with Apple, most of which resulted in getting a call and hearing no message until the voice said "We're sorry you have not responded. ". There will need to be a rescheduled appointment. It was only after I yelled and screamed, finishing by pushing buttons, that I got a response after trying three and four times. I then set up a time for Apple to call me. I never received a call from them. In the end, I spent an hour on the phone with the very nice and patient Apple technician, but ultimately the problem could not be solved. The 2013 iMac that I have been using for music production has been very good to me for several years. While the Mac runs fine with no problems at all (just sold it now), when I discovered the new iMacs were out I decided to get one to take advantage of the extra power and to use plugins in the DAW faster. The Ram I ordered from Amazon was increased once I received it from Amazon. I had a very disappointing first experience with Samsung RAM when it did not work no matter what configuration I chose. In response, I returned the old RAM and bought Timetec Hynix RAM that worked on the very first attempt. I use recording studio software Logic Pro X and the plugins I use with the new iMac and I haven't noticed any glitches at all. A iMac with an Intel processor was the best choice because I planned on using Bootcamp to install Windows and run both platforms in one computer. The installation went smoothly and no problems using programs in each operating system were encountered. The extra power it provides and its smooth operation appeal to me. bought an Intel Core I7 CPU, and I'm very happy with it!
