Except for the lack of a numeric pad on the keyboard, the computer itself is fine; I have no complaints about it. However, contrary to what Amazon's advertising would have you believe, it is not the 2020 model. I was surprised to see "iMac (21. )" when I clicked on the Apple logo and then on "About this Mac. " I assumed it was 2020 when I saw "5 inch, 2017). " I called Apple, gave them the computer's serial number, and they confirmed the year was 2017. They did say, however, that there will be no 2020 model for this Mac. They also confirmed that the price charged by Amazon is the same as the price charged by Apple, so I wasn't being ripped off. Just keep in mind that this is the 2017 version.
The product is fine, but I purchased it because it stated clearly that it was "The New iMac," and the information stated that it would be released in August 2020. When I went to About Mac, it said it was a 2017 model. Information that is misleading.
It is, in fact, the year 2017. When I contacted Amazon, they acted as if the false information was not a problem. Apple is a fantastic company, but Amazon's misinformation is not.
DO NOT PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE AS IT IS A 2017 MODEL.
The computer is a model from August 2020, according to this item. After putting it together and doing some research on this Mac, I discovered that it was manufactured in 2017. This is a classic case of bait and switch. This makes me angry. I bought this to replace a 2015 model of the same computer that had recently failed due to a hard drive failure, only to discover that the new one is only two years older. Very let down.
I bought two of these for my kids who started remote learning at home this month because their school-provided iPads and laptops were degrading the experience and making it even harder for them to stay focused, engaged, and so on. This definitely helps, and even though it's a base model and not particularly well suited to do things like play the latest and greatest games, edit photos with Photoshop, edit videos with Final Cut Pro X, or basically do anything that requires more processing, it definitely helps. br>br>The 1080p screen is nice and has a good resolution for a 21-inch screen. The overall design and the 5" screen are nice, if a little dated. The volume of the speakers is sufficient. The only complaint I have is that the number 21 is missing. The 5" version, unlike the 27" version, did not receive a significant upgrade this year, so we're still stuck with a 720p webcam and UHS-II storage. I SD card reader, etc. It's definitely outdated, but it provides a far superior remote learning experience, so no regrets.
If you don't pay for Apple care, you won't be able to get started. Scam with an apple. I tried to transfer all of my old iMac data to a hard drive, but it wouldn't let me.
It is a big hit with my daughter. Next, I'm thinking about getting one.
