UPDATED (at bottom)br>I bought these in an XXL because I fit into that size on the chart and didn't want the hems to cut into my legs. I usually wear a L/10 pant size. I'm about 5'5" tall and 180 pounds, with an athletic build. br>br>They are comfortable to wear, but they are a little loose. They're perfect for a swimsuit, and I adore them. The lace on the sides is strong but not stiff, stretches, and was designed to be worn in the water! I'm very pleased with how close the waistband comes up to my natural waist (which is quite high). Because I carry my weight in the back, the front is a little loose on me. As a result, I went down a size (XL) to see if it would fit better. I'll keep you updated. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> The XL is a lot more comfortable! They'd be ideal for a day at the beach. Be wary of the mesh sides; if you don't apply sunscreen under the mesh, you'll get a hilarious tan/sunburn. br>br>In the dryer, this item will shrink! Although the instructions state that it should not be dried, someone else did it for me in an attempt to be helpful. The XL is a little tight around my thighs at the hems now that it has shrunk in the dryer, but the XXL is still a little loose in the waist/front, which is something I was concerned about. I'm keeping both because I like the material and, let's face it, our sizes fluctuate on a daily basis.
I've never owned a pair of swim shorts that are more comfortable!! The waistband is wide enough to hold a mom pooch in place, and the material is durable and smooths everything out! I've never spent an entire day in a bathing suit before, but these are so comfortable that I didn't even want to change when they were dry! I'm going to order a second set! Oh, and the mesh on the sides prevents your skin from poking through! IN LOVE!.

I like the swim trunks, even though they are a little longer than capri length on me because I am 5'2". I went up a size because I thought they'd run small, but I could have gone up a size (I'm 185 pounds). I like them, despite the fact that they are probably not as snug as they should be.

The shorts can be rolled up to your desired length. I don't feel comfortable running around in regular swim bottoms when we're at the amusement park's water park, but these are perfect!.
