You should choose the size based on your waist size, but the sizing was a bit off. A size 4 fit me just fine, but I usually wear a size 5 for jeans. I measure 28 inches in waist, weigh 110 pounds, and wear size 5 for jeans. In case the style is too big, you can accessorize the look with a matching belt. There are belt loops on the skirt, so if you order a large size you can find a belt that matches. If you're going to go with two or four, I suggest you pick two or four.
These skirts have an excellent fit and seem to be true to size. Approximately 5'6" tall and 130 pounds, my daughter is the same height as me. Several of you have asked about the Dickies Women's Twill Skirt in black and khaki that I recently purchased. In my order, I ordered a size 10 (which I normally wear in pants). I ordered it for the waist, but it fit ok in the leg area, however the waist was a bit uncomfortable? I thought I would try the Juniors style to see if it was more comfortable than my previous ones. It is absolutely perfect that I ordered the juniors style in a size 11. There is a great fit to the thigh / leg area, as well as a very flattering cut. It fits like a pencil skirt, but it's not as tight as a pencil skirt. The hip and thigh area of this cut is very straight. My first order was navy, and I loved it so much I bought the khaki as well. In a few hours, I'll be ordering the black. The juniors style is suited for anyone who prefers a more streamlined fit over a relaxed one. In case you need a more loose fit with quite a bit of room in the thigh and leg area, the women's version will take care of that.
