It seems to work for me even though I have very sensitive ears and am highly allergic to them! It is true that the larger gauge makes them initially irritate the ear (compared to simple posts), but this soon passes. The process of putting them in is tricky, as others have mentioned. Only two of the five arrived with the little ball that acts as a catch when you snap it shut. The first time could be explained as a mistake, but the second time they're made incorrectly. The two rings I put in, however, did not cause me to have any irritations, even though my ears are very sensitive. The earrings were worn for more than a month straight, and I only cleaned my ears in the shower as usual. Although I don't mind the two defective ones as I still have three and only needed two in the first place, I wouldn't recommend these if you're likely to change your earrings often for fear of breaking them as well. Nonetheless, if you intend to set and forget, this is a good option.
