This pair of pajamas is awesome! There is no purpose to the string. Printing is used to create the design. Perhaps that is why they felt so stiff when I first In the washing machine, they softened up a bit, but it needed a second and third wash to give them that soft cotton feel like The size of the ring didn't change The colors stayed vibrant and colorful! One of my new favorite sets!.
