It is a pity my husband ordered these pants for wildfires and they are way too large. We washed and dried them in the hopes that they would shrink up but it wasn't to be, so we're Since they will need to be on hand for him, we won't be returning them, but we will definitely order the smaller sizes. The average size of his torso is 36" to 37" He ordered a large only to be disappointed. His waist is 38", so this is a huge fit. The legs of his stocky build are still loose in spite of his thicker build.

There is no such thing as a size chart and fit

My waist measures 34 inches, so I ordered the medium and they are huge. Even with my jeans on, they are a lot bigger than I expected. There is an excess of boxiness and bulkiness in the legs. As they fit more like clown pants, they are so baggy, that if I tried to walk a fire line I would have chafed and had to be sent back to the shop The fit is to be avoided.

I am a woman and usually wear a size large or These smalls were a little big on me, but I will make do with them. Also, I am only 5 feet 5 inches tall, so they were very long on me, but the bottom cinches up, so they will still fit.

Their comfort level is marginal, and they are very tough. I am protected from hot stuff by them. It's just a matter of saying what else there is You will be fine if you purchase the standard size for the game, instead of adding little more to make them fit over your normal pants.
