Questions & Answers

Is it true that the shoes are small?

That's correct, sir.

Do these shoes have a lot of rigidity or do they have a lot of flexibility? Because of his flat feet, my son requires a very sturdy shoe, and his doctor suggested Asics. ?

My 200-pound son, who has flat feet, wears them all. He works as a waiter and spends a lot of time on his feet.

Is it possible to stand in these shoes?

They're comfortable for running and walking, so I'm guessing they're also comfortable for standing.

Are they authentic?

They are, indeed, the originals, and they are fantastic! Thank You

I've had a couple of periods in my life where I ran fairly consistently--each lasting a few months--and this is the perfect running shoe for value and comfort
5/5

I never managed to keep it up, though. I decided to start again almost five years ago, when I was in my forties. I've been running since I was in my 30s (except for water breaks)! This was the first time I realized I needed a proper running shoe, and I happened to come across the Asics Gel-Kayano. I believe this is the third generation of the Contend series. This has been my sole running shoe for the past few years. If it isn't broken, don't fix it, as the saying goes. I'm familiar with my size, and they're both comfortable and supportive without being overly so. They've kept me mostly injury-free for a long time because they're cushioned. During a marathon, a half-marathon, or a full-marathon, you will be completely free. Thousands of miles of training, a marathon, several 10Ks, and numerous 5Ks The best part is that they're CHEAP! My running buddies regularly spend more than $100 on shoes and have multiple pairs for different races, but I never wear anything else and have never paid more than $50 for them. As a result, replacing them every 400 miles (roughly every three months) does not hurt my wallet. In my return to running, I've discovered that cheap new shoes are better than expensive old shoes, so I'll keep buying them as long as they're on sale at the end of my three months. Better yet, keep an eye on them and buy them when they go on sale so you always have a pair on hand. My only complaint is that these shoes always give me a blister on my right second toe. However, since I haven't worn any other shoes in a long time, it's possible that it isn't the shoe. It wasn't enough to knock a star off the list. PRO TIP: br>br> Keep these from stinking (especially if you've been running in the rain) by doing something like this:.

Excellent shoes with one minor flaw
5/5

For running (which I do three times a week), I almost always purchase ASICS shoes. Every week, four times. The size has always been consistent, which is important when ordering online. br>br>These shoes are very comfortable and fit well. The only strange thing about them, which may be unique to me, is that they are slightly higher than normal and rub my lower ankles. I can't wear no-show socks with them; instead, I have to wear quarter socks for extra protection. No problem as long as I'm wearing them. Without them, I run the risk of getting a blister when I'm finished. br>br>In reality, the rating is closer to 4. I gave them a five because of that one minor annoyance, but I have no regrets about purchasing them.

If you like to bind your feet, these are the sneakers for you
3/5

These shoes have very nice/comfortable insoles, which are great for long walks like my old Nimbus 16's, but the middle is so narrow and tight that it feels like a noose around your foot. It's also very tight in the toebox. My usual size is ten. But I had to give it a shot at number ten. The sizes 5 4EE and 11 4EE are both too small. I also tried the Kayano 25, which had a tight toebox but a good midsection, but the heel rubbed against my ankles, and the ostensibly FlyteFoam felt like walking on concrete. br>br>Anyway, Asics' releases this year have been a disaster. Take a look at this video on YouTube: I'm afraid I won't be able to provide a direct link, but try searching for: GEL NIMBUS 21: ASICS GEL NIMBUS 21: ASICS GEL NIMBUS 21: ASICS G WHERE DID IT ALL GO WRONG? RANT / REVIEW - by Jamison Michael (he mentions the Nimbus 21, but it's a trend I've noticed with Asics this year in the models I've tried).

For a half marathon, this is an inexpensive and sufficient option
5/5

These arrived the afternoon before a marathon, just like the shorts I purchased a week before a half marathon. The night before, my wife and I went out to dinner, and I wore these to see if I should run the half marathon in them. That night, they felt fantastic, and I was in desperate need of a new pair of running shoes. So I wore them for the half marathon. It's perfect! There are no issues at all. Yes, I had never run in them before, and I had only walked about 100 yards in them before putting them on for a half marathon. Without a hitch, I was able to cover 1 mile. I'm a 54-year-old man, and my time was an acceptable 2:45. 04, which was (unfortunately) slower than my 25-year-old daughter, but that is not the fault of the shoes! I am very pleased with these shoes.

NOT WIDEbr>Place the shoe's insole on a clean hard floor (not carpet) and stand on it with your heel slightly forward from the end
3/5

(Simulate standing in the shoe by putting your foot in the middle. ) NO PART OF YOUR FOOT SHOULD OVERHANG FROM THE INSOLE. )br>br> br>br>In recent years, there has been a trend in shoes where manufacturers all make the same width shoe (medium width) and then label it wide, extra wide, and extra extra wide. br>This is not the case! br>I've tried 4E and 6E shoes after 4E and 6E shoes and have yet to find one that fits. There hasn't been a single pair that has come close to achieving 2E. br>I was told they needed to break in by the manufacturer. br>Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa br>They're not leather, but mesh! They should be able to wear them right out of the box! We are being deceived! br>br> How many people are inconvenienced by shoe sizes that are too big or too small?.

I've been buying and loving 3s and 4s for a long time, but I despise 5s
3/5

I've owned dozens of pairs of Contend 3s and Contend 4s for running, jogging, and walking, and I've always loved them! They were extremely comfortable and offered excellent support for a reasonable price, which makes the fact that the latest iteration, the Contend 5, has drastically changed the heel area all the more disappointing. br>br>The Contend 5s have completely destroyed the backs of both of my heels! Neither of its predecessors had ever done anything like this. I'm not sure what's changed, but they didn't feel right to me from the moment I put them on. I hoped that they just needed some breaking in, so I put a bunch of Bandaids under my socks to help mitigate the damage and went for some long walks (40 miles in about 2 weeks), but no break in has occurred. They're still impossible to put on without damaging the backs of my heels. Due to the damage to my heels, I haven't been able to do any jogging, which has completely disrupted my routine. br>br>These sneakers have completely disappointed me. I used to be able to go to the store and buy new sneakers every three months or so without having to try on a bunch of different pairs. It was automatic; if my sneakers were worn out, I simply went to the store and bought new ones. Order the most recent set I received, it's that simple! Now I have to either find someone who has old stock of 4s or give up on Asics entirely and look for a new standard sneaker.
