Questions & Answers

Is this suitable for standing for an extended period of time, such as 8 hours? 9 hours?

The long-term comfort of these shoes has not met my expectations. I, too, spend the majority of my day walking and standing. I'm a nurse practitioner, so I need to be able to walk comfortably. The only model in the ASICS lineup that has disappointed me is this one. I do recommend the Cumulus or Nimbus lines; I've been wearing them for nearly 15 years and they have never let me down. I only have three pairs of Gel- Kayano and the number 26 were both let down.

What size would a 9 be in this men's shoe? I wear a 9 in ladies' shoes, so how big would a 9 be in this men's shoe? Thanks! ?

I always wear a US women's size 8 in the Kayano. 5 or a men's size 7 in the United States. As a result, I believe a women's 9 is a men's 7. br>I prefer the colors of men to the colors of women. br>br>I'm crossing my fingers that ASCIS didn't mess up the sizes. I've heard complaints that the width is too narrow compared to previous models. br>I haven't had any issues. Make certain you receive free returns.br>br> br>br>Having said that, I own models 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, and 25. So far, there have been no issues. I wear what is referred to as standard width. As my shoes accumulate miles, I rotate them to the car, house slippers (plantar fasciitis), active wear, and finally the donation box. br>br>Just like a car tire, they accumulate miles, and shoes that sit on the shelf age. I don't buy models that are more than a year old because I don't know how they were kept. Because of my plantar fasciitis, I wear a spenco walker runner insole (red one) for more arch support, and so far I'm happy with it. It's the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever had. br>br>Best of luck to you.

How does the Kayan 19 compare to other shoes?

I wore that model shoe for several years before switching to a lighter, cushioned shoe. I decided to return to Kayano, and the only difference for me is that the shoe foot box is a little smaller this time. The shoe is still one of my favorites.

Will I be able to get a regular size 13 in wide or extra wide?

You will receive a size 13 that is slightly larger. It's a very relaxing shoe to wear. You'll be pleased with the result.

What was once a fantastic shoe has undergone a drastic transformation
3/5

Come on, Asics, you can do so much better. I'm a regular runner who's been wearing Asics since the model 17 series. All of the shoes in the numbers 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21 were fantastic. The 22nd model was a disaster, the 23rd model was a partial fix, and the 24th and 25th models were fantastic once more. Now the 26 shows up, and it's a complete disaster. The cushion around the back of the heel/achilles twice pushes the foot forward just enough that it only took 6 miles for me to realize that my toenails would be falling off in no time as they are pushed up and rub against the front of the toe box. This is on top of a recent pair of Gel Kayano 25 "Liteshow" shoes that pushed my outer toe against the insole's edge, resulting in a blister during a 9-mile run (I'm training for an Ironman, so the miles are typical of my training right now). br>br>I need shoes that I can rely on from model to model, shoes that I can buy with complete confidence will fit and won't injure me. That is no longer the case with Asics. br>br>I'm not sure if this is a result of Amazon's apparent transformation into a place for businesses to get rid of surplus inventory. rate/defective products, or because Asics relocated their manufacturing from China to a new facility in Vietnam (as I've seen in other recent reviews). However, I need to know that I can rely on high-quality products that will not harm my feet. br>br>I wish someone from Asics would get in touch with me and explain why I've had two pairs of bad shoes after years of good ones. But, as with most large corporations, I anticipate a collective shrug. I'm also able to shrug. This weekend, I'll be purchasing shoes from a competitor at my local running store. I recommend that others follow suit.

What a costly flop! I made a huge mistake by purchasing these online
3/5

I would not have bought them if I had tried them on in a store. They're attractive, but they're not suitable for exercise (which is why I bought them in the first place). My previous Asics had a lot of padding to protect my feet from impact, but this new pair only had a thin, cardboard-like insole like you'd find in cheap shoes. Furthermore, it feels as if there is a very hard bar across the toes of the shoes, which is extremely uncomfortable. I purchased some foam insoles from a drugstore and exchanged them. Although it greatly aids the heel, the hard crossbar (or whatever it is) remains extremely uncomfortable. On a cruise with daily shore excursions that required some walking and standing, I wore them. After a while, it becomes excruciatingly painful-- It's not the same as my old shoes. I'll give them a couple of runs on the treadmill to see how they react with an incline, but if that doesn't work, I'll have to declare these shoes useless. What a costly bomb it is. out. A valuable lesson was learned. I'll have to return to New Balance because I never buy shoes online without seeing them first. This makes me angry.

Running shoes with a flat foot that are extremely comfortable
5/5

For as long as I can remember, I've purchased shoes from various manufacturers. It wasn't until recently that I realized I needed a shoe that was designed specifically for my feet. br>br>I didn't realize I'd been walking around in the wrong shoes my whole life until I looked up a chart and looked at how my old shoes had worn out. br>br>Went to see who made flat-footed shoes, and Ascis was one of the brands that came up. These popped up when I was looking through their running shoe lineup for flat feet or low arches. br>br>When you put them on, you'll notice a huge difference. br>br>The shoes are extremely comfortable, and I enjoy running in them!.

The walking shoe is fantastic
5/5

Kayanos has been a part of my life for the past five years. A shopkeeper in Mykonos, Greece, urged customers to upgrade from Nimbus so they could walk more comfortably on the cobblestones. Since then, I've been walking four miles with them on my feet. This is a fantastic shoe.

Best Shoe of the Year 2019
5/5

As a long-time runner, this is the best shoe I've ever worn. It's easy to run 50 miles per week in these. Because I have flat feet, I only wear Kayanos. So far, the number 26 has been the best.

Large overpronators will benefit the most from this shoe
5/5

I'm not particularly tall (about 6 feet 220 pounds) and have been wearing a different brand of shoes for over 12 years that claimed to be designed for overpronators. I read the most recent reviews and decided to buy a pair of Asics Gel Kayano 25 size 12 medium based on those reviews. I had worn out the first pair after about a year of use. Now that I have a new pair, the cushioning is starting to thin out, and there are holes where the big toenails come into contact. wow. I used to walk in the old ones, but these are without a doubt the best support shoes I've had in years. Now that I'm 65, I'm trying to get back into running after undergoing surgery (which isn't related to running). On the treadmill, I'm in great shape, and I'm looking forward to getting on the track. Being a fairly large person with flat feet, these shoes are not only attractive but also free of plantar fasciitis! I'm in a happy place. These shoes, I believe, aided in my recovery from a severe bout of the aforementioned injury, and they continue to keep me running pain-free. I've tried a lot of different brands, and after running in one pair of a relatively cheaper shoe, I was in so much pain that I couldn't walk for a few days and was in pain for months until I tried the Asics. I've been running since the late 1960s and wish I had these shoes at the time. It's a fantastic shoe; give it a shot; you'll enjoy it.

A Fantastic Shoe That Only Gets Better
5/5

I've gone for a 15-mile run in my new Gel- Kayano 26 running shoes are very comfortable. In addition to the styling (sheet rock/maco blue), I enjoy the support, which is firmer than my previous pair (Gel-Tec). Kayano 25), but it has had no effect on my running experience.

Running shoe with a good amount of comfort and stability
5/5

I run 25 miles per week, but I have a bunion on one foot that necessitates a wide shoe. When I can find Asics shoes in a wide width, they provide me with excellent stability and comfort while running - Blisters and aches were not present. These are among the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned.
