I bought these for my 2-and-a-half-year-old grandson, so I can't say how long he'll be able to wear them or whether they'll provide arch support, but he's a picky shoe wearer who didn't seem to mind the boots. We did go up a size because he'll be moving to Alaska and we want him to be able to wear these boots. We were very pleased with them because they are well-made.
