Depending on his height, it would be best to buy two sizes up. If he is ok, he should buy one size larger. It can be too short for him if he isn't

I attended my sister's wedding and both front buttons on my son's jackets fell off before the wedding was half over. There were some disappointments for me. I did not see either of my boys fuss with buttons, nor did their blazers fit tightly enough for them to lose their buttons. This is a nice jacket, but I recommend changing the buttons.

Great jacket. I like it a lot! For my son, who will turn 10 in a few months, the size 10 is too short on the sleeves. Hopefully the sleeves will fit the next size up. I'll return and get the next size up.

My son ordered this for his first communion (his choice!) and it was a perfect addition to the ceremony. He can wear it again and it is a very dapper piece. As well, it is the perfect size. My order was a 7 since he usually gets a 7 from me. I would highly recommend it.
