In small, we bought a Carhartt sweatshirt for my son (8), but after one wash, it was too small even for my 5 year old. Our sweatshirt was already too small so we bought another in large, thinking it would shrink after washing. My arms are almost long enough to fit in there- 5'7" is the height of my height. I'm very happy with the quality of this jacket, and the size I ordered fits perfectly. As a 5 year old, our son wears a 5, but we ordered a 6 to give him room for growth. I like this sweater because it is sturdy. The only negative I can think of is that it's prone to chafing. Tree climbing is a love of his so it chafes after only one use (he is extraordinarily rough though) and he decided to slide off the branches on his belly which did not help either. As you can see, there are no holes in his jacket yet, which leads to the death of all his jackets due to daily tree climbing, so I think that's awesome.
A jacket would be a glove if it were. I got exactly what I expected out of this jacket. This jacket has received so many compliments and I can see This jacket is of excellent quality, a great fit, lightweight, and provides an excellent amount of warmth and wind protection, all while being a carhartt product!.
