Hello! While the Kids Play Hat has a neck cape that is designed to lay flat (ideal for use in strollers), the Fun Bucket's brim is soft and floppy, and would likely be just as comfortable.
When she first received it, she was only four years old, and it was a tight fit. We'll probably keep it for another couple of years because she still wears it (she's almost 5). Before this one, I tried on a lot of different hats for my daughter. Since I bought it, I haven't needed to look for anything else. I adore it, and even better, she wears it and keeps it on in the sun with ease.

The adjustable strap in the back was extremely useful in extending the life of this hat. The size M is appropriate for a 3- or 4-year-old and will last for two years. 3 years! We go to the beach twice a year and wear this hat at home, and it hasn't lost its color or shape in two years. The brim stays in place and isn't as floppy as some of the other hats we've tried. My daughter used to get irritated when floppy hats got in the way of her vision and would remove them. I like that this hat is cute, practical, and comfortable for kids to wear, so there will be no fighting over who gets to keep their hat on. Another feature of this hat that has proven to be extremely useful is that it folds up easily for packing, making it an ideal travel hat. I also have a Sunday afternoon hat with a longer brim on the back for extra neck protection, but this one is more fashionable.
- This is a fantastic hat that is well worth the investment! The vents, the sturdy but foldable brim, and the under-chin strap (which is a must for us) are all features I appreciate
- This hat will finally be worn by my toddler. He'd rip off and throw other hats we tried on the ground. We'd try to act cool by pretending to wear the other hats, but he'd remove them from our heads as well. He still despises being forced to wear a hat, but he does so now. This summer hat has become a staple in our wardrobe.
- The brim does not obstruct his vision, which was one of my concerns. Because of its shape and sturdiness, it stays out of the way. One of the reasons I believe he prefers it to the others is because of this.
- It's perfect for providing shade! It does the job that it was designed to do.
- This hat is absolutely adorable! It makes my day when I see him in it because he's so cute!
- I ordered the small (baby) size for my 2016 month old with a 98%tile head. It was a perfect fit, but there was no extra room. His head circumference is 49cm, which according to the sizing chart should have left some room; however, I would have ordered the same size because it fits great and I'd rather have it be perfect and get another one next year than mediocre and last two summers. And I'm going to order another one for next summer. And for all future summers and children, as well as recommending this hat to everyone. It's pricey, but I believe it's better to have one fantastic hat than a bunch of mediocre ones.
He's three years old and has a large head measuring 21 inches across. 25”. The size large fits perfectly without any tightening of the sizing feature. I wish there had been more room for me to grow because I could have tightened the hat if necessary. He looks great in this hat, and the royal blue is his favorite color. The wide brim provides excellent sun protection, and the gray mesh fabric strip allows for some air flow, allowing him to stay cool. Because the strap is only detachable on one side, you'd have to tuck it inside the hat on the child's head if you didn't want it. The strap, however, is ideal for my child because it's windy here and he's always running. Throughout the summer, he's been wearing the hat. It's been washed twice and still looks new. This is a hat that I strongly suggest!.
I got the size "Large" for my four-year-old and he loves it. With the adjustable strap, there's plenty of room for growth. I like how it has a lot of headroom - Our previous sun hat was too short and kept falling off. Lightweight and durable, it holds up well in the pool. This makes me very happy. I'm going to order another one for my two-year-old (in a large size, too). With some adjustment, that size fits his head as well, and he's a medium-sized man). This hat is fantastic - highly recommended. To get the most bang for your buck, I recommend getting the large for toddlers.
My daughters each had a Sun Day Afternoon hat, which was their favorite; the hats are a little pricey for a hat, but well worth it. They don't fade or lose their shape, and they're very light. We carry them in our backpacks, suitcases, and other carry-on luggage; they can get wet in the pool, splash pad, or rain and dry quickly, looking brand new. br>br>In our windy Colorado location, we appreciate the ability to tighten the hat in the back and the chinstrap. In a nutshell, these hats are pricey, but well worth the money, so we bought two for each of our three children.
The adjustable strap around the brim is functional and will last us many years. The brim isn't as floppy as other hats', and it offers plenty of sun protection. The fact that the adjustable neck strap has a break-away feature appeals to me. for the sake of safety. I ordered a large for my six-year-old son and a medium for my almost-four-year-old daughter, and they fit perfectly. My daughter can even wear hers with her ponytail in place. I wouldn't change anything about these hats, and I'm already thinking about ordering the next size up to save money!.
My son is 18 months old and has a head circumference of 19 inches. 1 inches. I went with the Child size, which has a 20-inch head circumference. 5 inches. On the inside of the hat, there's a pull cord, which I stretched as far as it would go. Throughout his vacation, it was perfect for him. He didn't bother to turn it off and just kept playing. I'm looking forward to wearing it this summer and most likely next year.
Since my children were toddlers, I've been wearing Sunday Afternoons sun hats. They're absolutely fantastic! They keep their shape, can be worn in the water, and even after three summers, they still look good. There aren't enough positive things to say about this hat. It was a little on the expensive side, but it was a good investment. They're really cute, and when my kids wear them, I always get compliments on them.
